Chapter 15: Vortex Spin
Tang Feng left, with the double doors silently creaking as they closed behind him.
'Su Yan, how can I be able to listen in on their conversation without their notice?' he said, wanting to find out something about these two that he can use against them.
Tang Feng was confused. He only knew that his skills and techniques can only be found in either his chaos core or his inventory.
'Then where is this new technique?' he asked telepathically, looking at the double doors before him.
He placed his hands on the doors, feeling the hardness of the wood it was made from. He spread his fingers on the door and slowly laid his ear on it to see if he could catch a glimpse of what they're talking about.
All the senses of a cultivator heighten as he rises in his cultivation. The same could be said about Tang Feng. So he tried hearing with his heightened senses, but he couldn't clearly capture the conversation as his senses were still developing.
Su Yan brought up a digital panel that displayed a spin plate with the title, Vortex Spin. It contained different kinds of techniques, but the name was what caught Tang Feng's attention.
'Su Yan, what is this?' he asked as he stared blankly at the spin before him.
Tang Feng was excited. 'So I can also get free techniques like this?' he thought to himself.
He wanted to check it out here but decided to leave for now and test out this new feature somewhere he wouldn't be disturbed. After he decided that, he said, "Su Yan, put it aside for now."

"He has gone," Bai Zhang said, as he opened his eyes slowly whilst removing his palms that were deeply rooted on the floor.
Shen Zhu, who had been impatiently waiting, burst out, "Aiya, why are you acting so cautiously around that boy? If you hadn't stopped me, I would have taken down the brat," he said, fuming and panting intensely like one who'd fought a million warriors all by himself.
"Calm down, sect master. That kid probably has a lot of treasures on him that are protecting him," Bai Zhang said, his eyes radiating a hint of greed.
"If that's the case, you should have joined me so we could take him down and claim the treasures for ourselves," Shen Zhu said, still unsatisfied with Bai Zhang's excuse.
"You're right... but there's something else... That brat is not simple," Bai Zhang replied, his eyes gazing into the distance, lost in the sight before him, his hands reverberating.
Shen Zhu, who was still angry, calmed down when he saw this. Bai Zhang is scared? he thought.
"What do you mean? Speak clearly," he said, urging Bai Zhang to speak further.
"I noticed it earlier..." he began, "...when I tried probing into his knowledge sea. I saw a lot of treasures on him, but I also saw... a being," Bai Zhang said, pausing as he suddenly began sweating.
This caused Shen Zhu to—don't know, but whoever it is that is behind that boy must surely be a big shot. We better be careful when dealing with him," Bai Zhang said.
For a mere guard at the East Gate to strike fear in Bai Zhang, there must be something, Shen Zhu thought, still unwilling to accept this, despite his anxiety.
"I believe he has a sister. My son has been chasing her for quite a while now. We can use her to get to him," Shen Zhu said, congratulating himself for coming up with such a marvelous plan.
"How do we do that?" Bai Zhang asked, and Shen Zhu ushered him to come closer as he whispered the plan into his ear.

Tang Feng went to an isolated forest on the north side of the sect, past the north gate. He found a waterfall with a cave beside it.
"Perfect," he said, hovering over the cliff before settling down on the cliff with the cave behind it and the waterfall beside the cave.
When he had settled down, Su Yan brought up the screen again, showing the spins below. Tang Feng hit the spin button and the slots began moving, signifying the start of the 3 daily spins.
At the end of the first spin, he got a technique that lets him harness the power of lightning. When the spin ended, his hands suddenly started glitching as lightning enveloped them. He fiddled with his fingers, his eyes following them as the lightning kept crackling all around his hands and fingertips.
He tried another spin, and this time, he got a new robe, which appeared before him when the spin ended.
The robe was dark red in color, with a long cape barely visible behind it and a hint of plain red at the corners of the embroidery. Tang Feng was impressed with the new attire and wasted no time in putting it on and sitting back down to take his last spin.
As the sounds echoed in his ears, he intently watched the rewards sliding down the pane until it slowly came to a halt, revealing the reward he'd gotten.
When the final spin ended, the spin panel vanished and Tang Feng didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. When he wanted to ask Su Yan what his last prize was, he heard a ping in his head, followed by a mechanical voice he was all too familiar with:
