"Get in," Logan said curtly, holding the passenger door open.
Rachel hesitated for barely a second before nodding.
"Hmm," she murmured, her voice thin, then slid into the seat. The door closed with a solid thud that echoed louder than it should have in the quiet street.
Logan walked around the car in long, rigid strides. He opened the driver's door and lowered himself into the seat without a word.
The moment he turned the key, the engine roared to life.
He didn't look at her.
The car shot forward almost instantly, tires biting hard into the road.
Rachel grabbed the edge of the seat as the city lights blurred past them.
Buildings, streetlamps, passing cars everything smeared together as he accelerated, cutting between lanes with reckless precision.
"Logan, stop it," she said, glancing at the speedometer before snapping her gaze back to him.
