Jace kicked the one in front that was holding the angled shield. Sending him flying backwards and surprising the other six that were around. Then before they could react he was tossing his assault rifle at one of them to catch them off guard while he materialized his knife in his hand. The nearest commando barely had to process the strange action of him tossing his gun before the knife slipped in through a gap in his armor and penetrated his chest.
They grunted and made a surprised noise. But the strike was not lethal. It would have taken him far too long to get past the armor and stab him in a spot that would have been lethal. Instead he just channeled an abnormally high amount of electricity into his knife and then the enemy's body.
