Chapter 25 - The Five Kingdoms

As Gabriel settled into his seat, the guild master began his narration, his voice carrying a weight of wisdom and experience.

"Young Gabriel, let me take you on a journey through the five great kingdoms," the guild master began, his eyes reflecting the rich history of these lands. "Each kingdom holds a unique position of power and influence in the world."

He paused, gathering his thoughts before continuing. "First, let us speak of the Clan of Mikagetsu. This realm, known for its disciplined warriors and strategic minds, commands great respect. The people of Mikagetsu are skilled in both combat and diplomacy, ensuring their place as a formidable force. Their leaders are wise and honorable, often using their deep understanding of strategy to outmaneuver their enemies. This Clan is momentarily lead by the elders as the head of the land unfortunately passed away not long ago. All they are waiting is for the young lady to come of age and take over the Clan . Though the kingdom's strength lies in its unity and the unwavering loyalty of its citizens."

Gabriel nodded at the vivid description. The guild master continued, his voice steady and clear. "Next, we have the Valtarion Kingdom. This land is a marvel of technological prowess and innovation. The Valtarian royal family are pioneers in engineering and invention, creating advanced machinery and structures that give them a significant advantage. Their military is equipped with powerful devices and weapons, making them a force to be reckoned with. The kingdom's capital, Arcturus, is a bustling hub of knowledge and progress, symbolizing their relentless pursuit of advancement."

Lowell's ears perked up with curiosity as the guild master spoke of the technological wonders of Valtarion.

"Now, let me tell you about the Kemet Dominion," the guild master said, his voice tinged with reverence. "This kingdom is shrouded in mystery and ancient wisdom. The people of Kemet have a profound understanding of the world and its secrets, giving them unparalleled insight and power. This dominion was said to be build in a vast desert. Their leaders are revered as wise and enigmatic, capable of wielding influence both politically and magically. The grand pyramids and majestic temples of Kemet stand as a testament to their enduring legacy and strength."

The guild master took a moment to let his words sink in before moving on. "Finally, we come to the most powerful of them all, the Arcanis Empire. This empire is vast and prosperous, with unmatched wealth and military might. The Arcanis Empire's influence extends across the entire continent, making it a dominant force in both political and economic arenas. The emperor rules with a combination of wisdom and strength, ensuring the empire's continued dominance and prosperity. This is also because they received the fortune and blessing of Monarch Ignis the most powerful one of them."

As the guild master concluded his explanations, Gabriel felt a sense of awe and curiosity about the vast and powerful kingdoms that lay beyond the inn's walls.

Gabriel then looked down the window and saw many swordsmen traversing the streets seeming as if they were not from this place.

There were al lot of posters hanging on the walls of the city carriages coming nonstop. Looking at this Gabriel could not help but get curious.

"It seem that a grand event is about to take place." Gabriel had a rough idea as he had heard many people excitedly conversing about this tournament with his superior hearing.

The guild master looked at what Gabriel was staring at and immediately understood his meaning. "Yes. As you can see, The Grand Ceremony is coming up in a few months."

Lowell, who had been eating silently all this time, could not help but ask, "The Grand Ceremony?"

"Yes. Anybody can attend and watch, but it is not a tournament," the guild master explained. "This ceremony is held by the empire's church to bless and protect the young royals and chosen children in the academy. It is a sacred event where the Monarchs who once shaped this world bestow their favor upon those deemed worthy."

Gabriel listened carefully, his fingers lightly tapping the table as he processed the information.

"Though beware," the guild master continued, his tone growing serious. "The royal families do not rely on their kingdoms for influence or power. They have always produced the most powerful of heroes. These families are said to be direct descendants of the very same heroes who once met the Monarchs themselves."

Lowell frowned slightly. "So this ceremony is more than just a tradition?"

"Much more," the guild master confirmed. "It is a declaration of divine favor. Those blessed during the ceremony are said to be guided by fate itself, their paths intertwined with the destiny of the empire."

He leaned back, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "Every autumn, the five kingdoms gather to witness this sacred event, reaffirming their unity and alliance. And among those chosen, one name always stands above the rest—his highness, Prince Kieran Ashbourne."

The guild master spoke with pride, as if recalling past ceremonies. "It is said that he has a rather cold and detached attitude, but his strength is undeniable. Many masters have tried to challenge him, but none have succeeded. His technique is unlike anything seen before. It is said he is the first one to have this power in over a thousand years. That power is none other than the ability to command any living thing he feels he can command but also has the fire of the fourth knight in him."
