Chapter 7 - The Arrested Giant

Ragnar panted for a moment before being struck in the face by a goon, being thrown aback and stumbling behind. His face was a bit bloodied up. Whether it was his blood or not was irrelevant to him. The next incoming strike, he blocked it with one of his arms and delivered a dreadful and powerful elbow strike to his opponent's face, knocking him into the ground on his face immediately.

Going ahead to give a smirk to him, he was pushed back against a wall by a powerful jab and kissing his neck was the tip of a rusty steel saber.

"Had enough?" Bekker taunted the boy, crossing his arms, standing behind his goons. Blood was splattered on the ground, multiple teeth laid buried in the dirt after being stood on and pushed down into the ground. Unconscious goons were scattered around them too, 3 of them.

The tall man lowered his hands, indicating that he's no longer going to fight "Fine.." he said with deep breaths "I know what you've truly done… That thing you did for power, taking a human life… You are cruel, Bekker."

Their eyes locked as Bekker stepped forward closer to him "You don't know what you're talking about. What you've seen… It's the minimum of what I intend to do to climb atop the seat of power in this world. Yes… I see that look on your face - the disgust you feel for what I've said, for what I've done. If you wish to continue attempting to stop me then you will end up another body that's trifled over and dropped dead by my hands."

"You've become delusional… Insanity has gotten to you."

"Maybe. Maybe not. I have no need to explain myself to you anyway." His response was cold, reasonably perfectly in his mind as the other goons brought his and their own stuff with the intention to leave Panor Alley and possibly Panor itself "You'd be too blind to see what I see."

The guy with the saber moved closer "So now you'll die. No witnesses to what happened in that house 5 nights ago." His words were a command. Ragnar's eyes widened as the flow of adrenaline rushed to him once more, pushing aside the saber with his own hands. The blade swung and hit the wall behind him as Ragnar had ducked and turned the corner, vanishing from their sight.

Ragnar knew this wasn't a game, this was real life. He chose to run away from that, knowing what he saw that night… Bekker didn't just kill those civilians, he butchered them in a way that the human mind couldn't even comprehend nor imagine. All for a bracelet too. He swore that the bracelet is something special in the right hands yet it looks expensive, like a relic or antique. But when Bekker did take it off the corpse of the dead woman and place it on, a literal change of atmosphere occurred in the chamber of the house they were in. So much so that Ragnar even felt a change in his aura, noticing and remembering it vividly on how the bracelet literally glistered and shone for a brief moment when he had placed it on his hairy hand.

Ragnar ran and ran until he reached the place he and his best friend, basically his brother, called home. There, due to it being concealed by the darkest of darkness in Panor Alley, he wrapped himself up with the only thought of needing to tell all of this to Axion. Tell him exactly what had happened and what he had learnt of the bracelet. After what would be a little while, he heard distant galloping nearing closer and closer quickly.

'What the hell is going on now?' he wondered, wiping off the last blood and standing up to go outside to check. The surprise it brought him was something unparalleled to anything before.

"Surrender or we will be forced to kill you!" the High Guard's Captain exclaimed as he and 3 other horses, plated with gray armor outlined with dark blue stripes. Their weapons consisted of a shiny steel mace, a chain and each with a sword in their own uniquity.

A High Guard, the one besides the captain, got off his brown horse, approaching Ragnar, at the ready for any lightest twitch to draw his weapon. "Where is it?" he asked as he walked past him. The other two got off their horses too whilst the Captain sat on his own.

"What are you talking about?"

"We've 10 witnesses who place you at the Micma House incident 5 nights ago. Do not pretend you are innocent." the guard replied, taking a fat rope out from his satchel and going behind the accused to tie him up.

Ragnar sighed and didn't fight it when he tied him up "I was there, I do admit that but-" he was cut off by the Captain's words "And you've stolen the Totem of Miiraana, an ancient relic and antique that's been generations in the Noble Micma Household."

The expression on his face changed as his muscles tensed, reflexively going to attempt to break out but couldn't "Wait what?" he sounded confused "I didn't steal anything from there. Question Bekker, he's the one who-"

Once again he was interrupted by the Captain "Bekker is the one who came to us and reported you, following after there were 9 other individuals. Even showing us the ones you've wounded in order to threaten him."

"I admit I've fought them but I didn't do it to threaten him! It was out of self-defense!" Ragnar's tone grew angrier, his voice louder.

The very moment later, the guard that checked the inside of his home came out and shook his head. The captain sighed and the rope was given equally to all of them, intending to take Ragnar in for his crimes to answer them. They had no concrete evidence except this being the first accused for the Micma House Incident.

"We're taking you in regardless" the Captain said "So make our job easier and make it easier on yourself and shut up, start walking and remain quiet." Ragnar snarled at his words, shaking his head and looking down. "Alongside that-" a High Guard spoke, the one who went into the home "Information has come to light that you were not alone and have taken the other individual into the hospital. We've dispatched word for his apprehension too."

They started to walk after climbing back on their horses, speaking with one another, pulling on Ragnar's rope to speed him up a little for a few minutes until they felt a weird very cold sensation and a whooshing sound, feeling the coldness begin to falter away as a rift was opened right in front of them. Their eyes couldn't believe it. They were frozen in their tracks, not because of the cold sensation but because of fear.
