The lantern's glow flickered, casting long shadows across the cramped cabin room as Adam's chuckle broke the silence.
It was a low, resonant sound, laced with mostly amusement at this very moment.
He leaned back against the wall, his golden eyes glinting in the dim light, studying Moca.
"My, My."
Adam started, and then continued voicing out his opinion on the matter at hand.
"It never cease to amaze me, how sensitive you creatures of the night truly are, you guys always had a knack for sniffing out energy source's henceforth there types. Hiding what I am from one of your kind? Is damn near impossible it would seem."
Moca's crimson eyes widened slightly, her posture stiffening, though she didn't retreat.
She stood her ground, her black leather outfit hugging her frame, the faint flush on her pale cheeks betraying the storm of questions brewing behind her composed exterior.
Adam's words hung in the air, heavy with implication.
"You're sharp, Moca."
