Calista opened her eyes and looked around in surprise. She raised her hand weakly and waved it in front of her eyes. This didn't seem like a dream.
The door was pushed open and her head snapped in that direction. She came face to face with Lysander who paused slightly seeing her awake then walked in.
She walked in quietly while he examined her without a word. He finished checking her out and turned around to leave.
Calista grabbed the hem of his coat and when he looked down, she retracted her hand.
"Why did you save me?"
He dusted his clean coat lightly and without looking back at her, answered.
"Captains orders."
Calista watched him leave and then let out a sarcastic laugh. What was she hoping for? She had humiliated him so much he was already being kind by listening to her father's orders to save her.
