Outside of the store tower and right in front of it.
Skylar raised his head to look at the sky above the sky terminal. He saw several white rays of light like pillars coming from beyond, pierce through an expansive sea of white clouds, then through gaps within another layer of thick gray clouds below, and finally through the last layer of cloud—a scattered and puffy blue and white masses like that of earth sunny cloud—which is closer to the gray cloud layer and seeming to be very far from the top of the sky terminal that completely dwarfs anyone on it.
Where is the sunlight even coming from?
Where is the sun?
Skylar wondered. He lowered his head, looking right in front of him at the matrix of landing platforms for sky vehicles in the distance, including the one the me-fayor they took landed on. Moreover, on most of the landing platforms, he saw sky vehicles parked close-contact on them in a grid, with some people coming down from some that just landed close-contact and some others boarding some that will soon take off.
"Abass, let's go." Skylar instructed Starboy beside him, and at the same time, a box cart carrying a cuddling couple and some boxes passed in front of them, which after it passed, they seem to follow after.
A moment later; after a long walk round the store tower, going in the direction of the departure zone of the sky terminal behind it and simultaneously along one of its sides—its left side—Skylar paused.
"Big bro, we call this place... store tower park. It connects the store tower front half and its rear half. Everything you see, from the front entrance where we entered, to the end in front, is one store tower." Starboy enlightened.
In front of them is a wide entrance—of length 500 meters and height 400 meters—that leads to a fantastical-looking park that has beautiful gardens, pools, gazebos, streams, tall trees, cute energy creatures and other man-made amusement structures.
Moreover, the sky of the park right behind the front half of the store tower contains many suspended structures that looks like a glass box with tactched roof, scattered across it just like the glowing mass of fluffy white clouds accompanying them.
"I see." Skylar responded as he raised his head. He saw a floating elevator with a family of four approach one of the suspended structure that is right below the glass roof of the park that adjoins the roof of the rear half of the store tower and its front half.
Using his superior sight, he shifted his gaze between the rear glass wall of both the rear half of the store tower and its front tower, calculating the width of the park they bound to be about a kilometer. Then he turned around, and just like he expected; he saw far in the distance another store tower park that sits between the rear half and front half of another store tower five kilometers from the one behind him that he just turned away from, and simultaneously beside it, forming a five kilometer wide alley they are passing through, which leads to the sky terminal departure zone they are going to.
A moment later, he turned to the side and resume their walk towards the departure zone.
"Let's go." He instructed Starboy. And following behind him, the two went on their way.
...
After completing a walk of one kilometer length each along the adjoined side of the store tower front half, park and rear half, making a total length of three kilometers, they finally stepped feet on the territory of the departure zone. And the place just like one would expect, has the entrance of the rear half of the store tower they just walked past facing it, just like the other store tower lined together with it, in a way they form its border on one side with a wide open space that leads outside of the terminal far on the other side.
Skylar glanced behind him at the rear half of the store tower that is identical to its front half in all form and shape, both exterior and interior; before returning to look at the departure zone with a wide open semi circular edge far in front, and which is also an extremely large space that has like a wall, a super long and super tall building like a modern office building, bisects it at its center, dividing it into two equal quarter circle area.
"Big bro, this is the left wing. That building is the waiting area, and behind it is the right wing." Star boy enlightened, pointing at the super tall and super long building made of wooden frame structure and chameleon glass walls.
"Hmm..." Skylar nodded. He hyperfocus and increase the limits of his sight, combining hypersense and superior sight which is one of the traits he inherited from Goldie; bringing the entirety of the departure zone left wing into view.
He saw at its left side which is also the curved left edge of the sky terminal departure zone, a colossal structure like a curved rack—made of just four wooden vertical posts that supports between them, about one hundred vertical layers of enormous glass slabs, that in turn supports few gigantic sky vessels parked close-contact on some of them that can still hold more, with some other slabs empty.
"Abbas, what do you call that?" Skylar pointed at the colossal structure. Meanwhile from one of its glass floors which is about two kilometer below another one—implying there is a uniform distance of about two kilometer between all the layers of enormous glass slabs—a very large ship parked close-contact on it slowly starts gaining altitude.
"Big bro, that's the ship hangar. In technical language, they call it a layered hangar... Its for keeping ships. Those glass slabs are called suspension floor." Starboy replied. Then he pointed at one of several super large platform-like structures located and arranged in a matrix between the layered hangar and the waiting area building—a structure like the landing platform in the terminal complex where the me-fayor dropped them, but many times bigger.
He continued, "That is the dock or landing platform. Its where we board ships."
"... And because its designed for large vessels, most people call it a dock to differentiate it from the landing platform of sky vehicles and mini ships."
"Hmm... I see." Skylar focused his attention on the several matrix-arranged dock structures—a raised square platform with a large flat top of size 4 kilometers.
Later, he relaxed his vision and turn his focus to Starboy beside him.
"So, where is our ship? There is no ship on any of the docks." He asked.
"Big bro, it should be on the right wing." Starboy replied. He pointed at the waiting area building that has its facade—length side—facing the curved length side of the layered hangar, with the docks of the left wing between them.
"Okay, let's go."
After Skylar instructed and after the two turned to the side, resulting in the departure zone left wing to be on their right side; they started sprinting along the length of the lined store tower rear halfs which is now on thier lef, towards the departure zone right wing in front and simultaneously behind the waiting area building—that has its length perpendicular to both their path and the length of lined store towers rear half.
A few moments later, Skylar starts slowing down as the two reached a point where the width side of the waiting area building is to their left and simultaneously to the left side of their path—a point marking the beginning of the right wing of the departure zone.
This place is more active. Skylar thought. He realized there are a lot more people and a lot more activities ahead, compared to the left wing that they were coming from which is now behind them.
He speeds up again, matching Starboy running space. And about a minute later; after weaving past one or two box cars that contains both people and boxes, they went past the width of the waiting area building and arrived proper at the large space between the departure zone right wing and the lined store towers rear halfs which is still to their right.
They stopped and Skylar turned to his left, facing the departure zone right wing that is way more active than the left wing, and then he saw four ships that looked like cruise ships, suspended close-contact on a dock each, which are all at the foremost row of the matrix, with sealed boxes being loaded onto them by a flying device and people going up towards them through a crib-looking flying objects.
"Big bro, our ship is going to block 900. Its the one with 900 above it." Starboy pointed at one of the four wooden ships on the dock. On top of it is a rotating large and conspicuous holographic display of 900, just like the other ship that has a different number on them.
"So what next?" Skylar asked. He glanced at Starboy next to him.
"We just go inside since we have no cargo." Starboy replied. He also glanced back at him.
"Okay, let's go." Skylar responded and the two starts moving towards the dock where the vessel is.
Meanwhile, as they walk on the aisles between docks, Skylar who already noticed there are several people like them walking towards the ships and a lot of others riding on box cars and box carts towards the ships; saw someone that seems to be begging as he chase another person on a box cart for a ride. And when he noticed the displayed holographic number on one of the four ship is blinking rapidly like it would go out, he thought the person begging must be heading towards it and the blinking means the ship will soon close its door and departs, leaving the person behind.
"These box carts and box cars, are they private property?" Skylar asked Starboy beside him who is matching his inhuman pace effortlessly.
Starboy upon seeing the man running and begging ahead of them, replied, "No big bro. They are all tower properties; we can rent them from the flight office and waiting area..."
"Big bro, if you are thinking why is that guy not allowing the idiot to come up, its because he thinks he might be one of those crazy idiots that will intentionally choose to start walking towards the dock when its almost late, and then will start begging shamelessly for a ride when they see the ship is about to depart..."
"I see...*chuckle* they are basically arrogant and stingy." Skylar concluded.
"Yes, big bro. The idea of paying with thier money for a one time use box cart is stupid. They think as long as they beg shamelessly enough, one idiot will offer them a ride..."
"Like those idiots?" Skylar interjected. Up ahead, he and Starboy saw a couple guide their box cart towards the person begging shamelessly as he run. And as they expected, they saw the couple offer him a ride he welcomed with a subtle derisive manner the couple couldn't catch.
Anyways, the two put the matter behind them and a moment later, they reached the dock to thier ship. And in front of one of its rear side—one of its four sides with the opposite one facing the wide open space that leads out of the sky terminal—Skylar saw a lot of large boxes like containers, placed on the ground and on top of each other without a particular order.
"Is that suppose to replace a crane?" Skylar pointed at one of several flying contraptions that has one vertical cable with a sucker end with which they are picking up boxes from the ground and automatically carrying them into the ship through its rear entrance on its concave stern that opened upward.
"Yes big bro... they are called flying crane." Starboy replied.
"I see." Skylar responded and the two continued on their way towards the right side of the dock which is where people go to in order to board the flying crib that will take them to the ship. And after the two walked forward a bit, they finally reached it, standing before its vertical walls.
