Makoto just stood there, smiling at Kurama without saying a word. The Nine-Tails narrowed his eyes, feeling an odd sense of unease.
That calm, confident smile, something about it reminded him of those two monsters, Hashirama and Madara.
'The hell? Why does this kid give me the same feeling as those lunatics? Is he actually strong? But… he's about the same age as that loudmouth Naruto,' Kurama thought, growing more and more confused.
Meanwhile, Makoto and Naruto were still looking up at the giant fox. Makoto glanced at Kurama's massive form and frowned.
"Tsk. I hate looking up at people," he muttered. He then turned to Naruto and grinned. "Oi, let's get some better seats!"
Naruto blinked. "Huh? Seats? Where? There's literally nothing here!" He looked around, but this weird sewer-like mindscape had no high ground whatsoever.
'Where the hell are we supposed to stand?'
Kurama said nothing. He just kept his sharp eyes on Makoto, trying to figure out what was so damn dangerous about him.
That unsettling confidence... it pissed him off.
Makoto suddenly clapped his hands together and formed a series of hand signs. "Alright then. Wood Style, Wood Human Technique!"
As soon as the massive wooden figure rose from the ground, Makoto stood atop it with a calm, knowing smile.
Kurama, however, felt a shiver run through his entire body.
The moment he laid eyes on that damn wooden man, memories came rushing back, painful, humiliating memories.
Back in the day, that monster Hashirama Senju had used the very same technique to grab him like some misbehaving house cat and then knocked him out with one hand.
The sheer disrespect.
'How the hell does this brat have Wood Release?!' Kurama thought, his mind spiraling into chaos.
'Is he that bastard Hashirama's son? No, wait, that's impossible. Then, a grandson? A great-grandson?!'
The more he thought about it, the worse he felt. This level of Wood Release was too damn familiar.
Meanwhile, Makoto grabbed Naruto and effortlessly lifted him onto the wooden giant's head. Naruto's eyes went wide as he took in the massive wooden figure beneath them. His mouth practically started watering.
"Makoto! What the hell is this?! This is amazing!" he shouted, practically vibrating with excitement. "Why have you never used this before?! Can you teach me? Come on, man! I wanna learn it too!"
Makoto glanced at the overexcited Naruto and let out a chuckle. "Sorry, but this is a Kekkei Genkai, the rarest and most powerful kind," he explained. "It's called Wood Release, and it can't be learned. Either you're born with it, or you're out of luck."
Naruto's excitement dimmed just a little.
"Oh... so it's like that thing Sasuke has, huh?" he muttered, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
He vaguely remembered something about Kekkei Genkai.
'Right, right... that tadpole thingy in Sasuke's eyes is a Kekkei Genkai too. So that means... Makoto has one too?'
At this moment, all of Kurama's arrogance had vanished. For the first time in years, the massive Nine-Tailed Fox was the one looking up, not down.
His sharp eyes locked onto the boy standing confidently atop the wooden giant.
"Kid! Your name is Makoto Ito, right?!" Kurama's deep voice rumbled through the sealed space.
"Who the hell are you?! How do you have Wood Release?!"
"Your last name ain't Senju! So how the hell is this possible?! What's going on here?!"
Makoto chuckled. "Oh? Looks like you're finally ready to listen. Guess I needed to show you a little proof first, huh?"
He spread his arms wide, standing tall atop the wooden giant. "But don't worry, Kurama. I've got more. A lot more!"
His grin widened as he threw his arms forward.
"Now, let's take a trip down memory lane! Time to relive some glorious moments from your past!"
"Adamantine Sealing Chains!"
With a burst of chakra, golden chains shot out from his body, weaving through the air like massive, writhing tails.
Kurama's eyes widened in sheer horror. The instant those chains appeared, his instincts screamed at him to run. His massive paws scrambled backward, but he hit the back of his cage.
'No. No way. These are...!!' Kurama's massive body shrank against the cold, damp walls of the sealed space, his tails curled inward.
This was the Uzumaki clan's sealing technique.
The same damn chains that had held him prisoner inside both Mito Uzumaki and Kushina Uzumaki.
His mind flashed back to decades of suffocating entrapment.
His sharp eyes turned to Makoto as his thought raced, 'No, this can't be a coincidence...! Wood Release... and now the Uzumaki sealing chains?!'
'That's it! This brat... he must be that damn monster Hashirama's grandson!
'There's no other explanation! Otherwise, how could he have Wood Release and the Uzumaki clan's techniques?!'
'But... why is his last name Ito instead of Senju?!'
Kurama was panicking now.
The Wood Human Technique was bad enough, but now he had to deal with this?
'No, I can't fight this kid! There's no way!'
Watching Kurama's soul leave his body, Makoto let out a deep, maniacal laugh. "Hahahahahahahaha!"
Kurama flinched after hearing this laughter. 'Wait... no... NO, NO, NO! Not again!'
First, the brat laughed and used Wood Human Technique and then, he laughed again and used Adamantine Sealing Chains.
Now, he was laughing a third time.
Kurama's heart skipped a beat. 'No way. No way! Does this brat have another insane trick up his sleeve?!'
Makoto's laughter suddenly stopped. He just closed his eyes and slowly opened them.
A six-patterned star burned bright red in his gaze.
Kurama's breath caught in his throat, his whole body froze upon witnessing this scene.
'Am I seeing things...? No, that's... that's definitely...'
"Sharingan?!" Kurama's entire body slumped against the cold floor of the cage.
At this point, he wasn't even a terrifying Nine-Tailed Beast anymore.
He was a traumatized little bunny.
