The sun was almost gone by the time Jin walked back through the school gate.
He could still hear Ryu somewhere behind him in the forest, the dull clang of iron hitting tree bark over and over. The man hadn't stopped since Jin left him, and Jin doubted he would stop before morning.
Taesung Baek was on the wall. He raised a hand when he saw Jin coming.
"Jin. Where's Ryu?"
"Still out there punching trees."
Taesung laughed. "Should I send someone out with food?"
"Send enough for three people. He'll finish all of it."
Jin crossed the courtyard. Most of the civilians had already gone back to their homes for the night, and the training ground was empty except for a few people stacking practice weapons against the wall. The cafeteria lights were on and he could smell something cooking, but he wasn't hungry yet. His body was tired. His head wasn't.
