The cafeteria had mostly cleared out by the time Jin finished eating, bowls scraped clean, chairs scraping back as recruits filed toward the door in loose, chattering clusters. A few of them didn't even make it past the courtyard before someone challenged someone else to a rematch, wooden practice blades already coming up before Seul had even stepped outside.
Jin lingered a moment longer at the table, watching the scene unfold through the window, some quiet satisfaction settling in at how quickly they'd all bounced back after everything the raid had put them through. It hadn't been that long ago that half of them could barely lift a blade without their hands shaking. Now they were arguing over who got to spar first.
He pushed his empty bowl aside, wiping his hands on his sleeve before finally rising to follow the noise outside.
"Absolutely not," Seul said, cutting through the noise before the first swing landed. "Put those down."
