The questions kept coming, recruits crowding around Seul, Joon, and Echo with the kind of eager curiosity that came from finally being allowed to want something for themselves again. Jisoo was still reenacting Joon's last throw with exaggerated arm swings, and Do-yun had somehow talked his way into a promise of actual sphere-control lessons before the week was out.
Jin let them have the moment. But as the noise settled into something more like background chatter, his eyes drifted over the wreckage still scattered across the courtyard, and something in his chest tightened.
It hadn't taken much. A handful of undertrained attackers and one enhanced leader, and the gate was rubble, the ground cracked in a dozen places, glass and torn metal strewn everywhere like the aftermath of something far bigger than what had actually happened. Seul, Joon, and Echo hadn't even been trying particularly hard, and the damage still looked like a small war had passed through.
