Chapter 64 - Chapter 65: A Not So Thorough Plan

[H.M.S. Interceptor: DECK]

Smoke and chaos filled the air as Arlo hurried to Gibbs and Anamaria. The Black Pearl loomed dangerously close, her cannons still smoking from the last barrage.

Gibbs clapped Arlo on the shoulder with a breathless chuckle. "That was a fine way to disrupt them, lad!"

Anamaria, however, didn't share the amusement.

"Not enough, though," she said sharply, gripping the wheel. Her eyes flicked toward the Pearl, closing the distance.

Arlo barely had time to respond before his danger intuition flared like wildfire. A feeling deep in his gut. Something bad was coming. He turned sharply—and saw it. A fresh volley of chain shot blasted from the Black Pearl's cannons, spinning like a deadly saw blade across the gap between the two ships.

Arlo's instincts screamed. "TAKE COVER!"

The crew dove behind crates and barrels—just as the shot ripped through the Interceptor's main mast

CRACK!

The massive wooden beam groaned—splintering, twisting—before toppling over. It didn't just fall. It crashed onto the deck of the Black Pearl with a deafening impact.

Barbossa barely flinched, standing unfazed as his crew scattered. Then, his voice boomed over the chaos. "BOARD THEM!"

Ropes and grappling hooks soared through the air, latching onto the Interceptor. Cursed pirates swung down like a plague.

Arlo gritted his teeth and raised his threaded cane, the blade hidden within its elegant frame glinting under the sun rays. "PREPARE TO FIGHT!"

The first pirate swung down, cutlass raised—Arlo reacted instantly.

One clean slash. The rope snapped, sending the pirate into a panicked freefall into the sea. Another came fast—Arlo twisted, flicking his cane whip, wrapping it around the pirate's wrist before yanking hard. The pirate lost his grip and slammed face-first into the side of the ship, then tumbled into the water.More made it aboard. Too many.

The deck erupted into combat, steel clashing, men shouting. Arlo moved through the chaos like a storm, slashing, dodging, striking with precision.A pirate lunged—Arlo parried, twisted his cane around the man's leg, and sent him sprawling into a broken barrel. Another swung a cutlass—Arlo dodged, delivered a sharp elbow to the pirate's gut, then drove his blade into the man's shoulder.

Nearby, Jack Sparrow swung down dramatically, landing next to Gibbs just in time to knock out a pirate with a perfectly timed kick.

Jack grinned. "Ah, Gibbs, fancy seeing you in trouble!"

Gibbs, still fending off an attacker, grunted. "Just another day, Captain!"

Jack swung back on the rope, sliced through another pirate's weapon mid-air, then landed backwards on the deck. Arlo barely had time to smirk at the ridiculousness before he saw movement near the hatch.

Arlo instinctively followed her gaze, dodging a wild musket shot as he moved closer. The realization hit him. Will was trapped, Just like in the movie. He cut through another pirate blocking his way, his cane's whip-like extension snapping around the man's wrist before he yanked hard, sending the cursed sailor crashing into a barrel. He reached Elizabeth, deflecting a strike aimed at her with a sharp, well-timed parry.

Then he grinned. "Miss Swann."

Elizabeth barely spared him a look before blurting, "Will is trapped!"

Arlo nodded, taking stock of the situation while still fighting off an onslaught of cursed pirates. He needed to get to Will then His danger intuition flared like an fire alarm. A searing vision hit him. A flash of fire. A lit torch. A powder keg below deck.

Arlo's breath caught. The Interceptor was going to explode. There is no time.

He grabbed Elizabeth and pulled her close, shielding her instinctively as another pirate swung at them. Arlo twisted, knocking the pirate's blade aside, but Elizabeth still struggled against him. "WILL IS TRAPPED!" she shouted, eyes wild. Arlo's mind raced. There was only one way Will was making it out alive. He bellowed toward the hatch, voice sharp."WILL! SWIM DOWN! GET OUT! THE INTERCEPTOR IS GOING TO BLOW UP!"

A stunned expression appeared in Will's face.

Then he yelled"WHAT?!"

"JUST DO IT!" Arlo roared.

For a split second, he saw Will's shocked expression through the hatch. Then he gritted his teeth and nodded.

"SAVE ELIZABETH!" Will shouted, determination clear in his voice.

Arlo locked eyes with him, then gave a single sharp nod. "Aye."

Elizabeth's eyes widened in shock, her protests caught in her throat as Arlo tightened his grip on her wrist and pulled her away. The Interceptor was moments from destruction. There was no more time.

Arlo shouted toward the crew as he pulled Elizabeth toward the ropes. "MOVE THE BLACK PEARL! INTERCEPTOR'S GONNA BLOW!"

Gibbs, already barking orders, saw the urgency in Arlo's face and turned. "GET US CLEAR! ALL HANDS, MOVE!"

The Black Pearl's sails shifted, its crew scrambling to maneuver it away from the doomed ship. Arlo reached the rigging, his eyes scanning for the closest rope.A pirate lunged at him from the side—he barely dodged in time, kicking the man off balance before slashing his threaded cane across his chest, sending him staggering back.

"No time for this," Arlo muttered under his breath. He grabbed the rope, looping his arm around Elizabeth's waist in a firm grip. "Hold on."

Elizabeth barely had time to react before Arlo leaped off the deck. The rope swung them out into open air, high above the Interceptor.

[Black Pearl: MAIN DECK]

The Interceptor erupted into flames in the distance, sending wreckage hurtling into the sea. Elizabeth wrenched free from Arlo's grip the moment she landed, staggering forward. Her eyes locked onto the sinking ship, fear gripping her.

"Will!" she shouted. The name barely left her lips before she rushed forward, blind to everything else.

The flames illuminated the wreckage, pieces of burning wood bobbing on the surface. Elizabeth took a step toward the edge of the deck then Barbossa grabbed her wrist.

"Welcome back, Miss," Barbossa said with a smug grin. "You took advantage of our hospitality last time. It holds fair now you return the favor."

Elizabeth struggled, her eyes blazing with defiance. Two of Barbossa's men stepped forward to restrain her but They never got the chance. In a flash, he had positioned himself between Elizabeth and the pirates. His threaded cane was drawn, the hidden blade inside glinting in the morning light. His threaded cane flicked out, its tip barely grazing the air before stopping inches from the nearest pirate's throat.

Arlo's voice was calm but lethal. "Touch her, and all of you will die."

The words weren't a threat. They were a promise. For a brief moment, silence hung in the air. Barbossa's eyes narrowed, his amusement fading. "That so?"

Before he could step forward he heard a some one Will appeared "BARBOSSA!"

The commanding shout cut through the tension. Every one heads turned to the direction of the voice.

Standing on the railing of the Black Pearl, soaked from head to toe, breathing hard, but very much alive was Will Turner. The pirates froze in shock. Elizabeth gasped, her relief obvious. Arlo? He just smirked. "Told you he was still alive."

Jack, watching the entire scene unfold, sighed. "Well, that's inconvenient."

Will didn't waste time. He jumped down from the rail, his boots hitting the deck with purpose. Without hesitation, he grabbed a pistol, his hand steady.

"She goes free!" Will declared, leveling the gun at Barbossa. The crew murmured, their previous shock shifting into mild amusement. Barbossa raised a brow. "What's in your head, boy?"

Will's jaw clenched. "She. Goes. Free."

Barbossa just chuckled. "You've only got one shot. And we can't die."

Arlo, standing beside Elizabeth, heard Jack sigh under his breath. "Don't do anything stupid."

Will glanced at Jack briefly, then turned his gaze back to Barbossa. His expression hardened."You can't," Will said. "I can."

Then, without hesitation, he raised the pistol and pressed the barrel under his chin. Jack groaned. "Like that."

The entire deck fell into stunned silence. Even Barbossa looked genuinely taken aback for a moment. Arlo resisted the urge to rub his temples. "Seriously?"he muttered under his breath.

As Arlo thought, Will can be sometimes too impulsive, do not trust pirates especially pirates like Barbossa

The pirates looked at each other, unsure, the tension growing. Finally, Barbossa's gaze sharpened. "Who are you?"

Jack, as always, was quick on his feet."No one." He said smoothly, stepping between them with a casual grin. "He's no one. A distant cousin of my aunt's nephew twice removed. Lovely singing voice, though. Eunuch."

Arlo snorted. "Creative." Beside him, Elizabeth shot Jack a glare, clearly not buying it. Will ignored them all. His hand remained steady on the trigger. Then, his voice rang clear over the deck. "My name is Will Turner. My father was Bootstrap Bill Turner. His blood runs in my veins."

The pirates stilled. Barbossa's expression shifted, his amusement replaced with something colder. Jack sighed, shaking his head. "Oh, fantastic." Ragetti's eyes widened as he turned to Pintel. "He's a spitting image of ol' Bootstrap Bill come back to haunt us."

The crew began to murmur. The name Bootstrap Bill Turner was not one they had forgotten. Will, sensing the shift, cocked the pistol, his grip unwavering. "On my word, do as I say, or I'll pull this trigger… and be lost to Davy Jones' Locker."

Tension gripped the air. Barbossa studied Will, then slowly he smirked. "Name your terms, Mr. Turner."

Will didn't hesitate. "Elizabeth goes free!"

Barbossa nodded slightly. "Yes, we know that one. Anything else?"

Will paused for a movement . Arlo and Jack both stiffenedthey saw it immediately. Will hadn't thought that far ahead.

Arlo tilted his head slightly, making a subtle gesture. Don't forget about us. Jack, meanwhile, made a series of exaggerated expressions, nodding toward himself and the crew.

Will's jaw tightened. "And the crew!" he added. "The crew are not to be harmed!"

Arlo slightly relaxed a bit, exhaling. "Finally."

Barbossa chuckled, stepping forward. His grin widened. "Agreed."

[Caribbean Sea: UNKNOWN ISLAND]

The Black Pearl lay at anchor near a small island, the morning sun barely breaking through the thick clouds. The salty sea breeze did little to relieve the discomfort of the captured crew of the Interceptor, who were now tied tightly to the Pearl's main mast.

Arlo, Gibbs, Anamaria, and the remaining crew were bound together, their hands restrained with thick ropes as pirates milled about the deck, some watching them with amusement while others looted what little they had left. One pirate, a grimy, scarred man with a missing tooth, walked through the prisoners, inspecting them one by one. When he reached Arlo, his eyes gleamed with interest, landing on the threaded cane that had been strapped to Arlo's side. With a greedy grin, the pirate yanked it away, holding it up to the light.

"Well, now this one's a beauty." He turned it in his hands, admiring the craftsmanship.

Arlo's expression remained neutral, though his muscles tensed. "Give it back," he said, his voice eerily calm.

The pirate and his nearby companion burst into laughter. "Oh? And what are you gonna do about it, tied up like that?"

Before Arlo could reply, the pirate's fist connected with his face, snapping his head to the side. Arlo gritted his teeth, feeling a sharp sting, but otherwise remained still.

The pirate sneered. "This is mine now, mate. You ain't got a say in it." With that, he and his friend walked off, still chuckling as they examined the weapon.

Arlo exhaled slowly, rolling his jaw to check for damage. The pain was annoying, but nothing compared to the frustration boiling beneath the surface. That cane had cost him 5,000 credits a hefty sum that made retrieving it a non-negotiable priority. But more than that, it was his. He had fought with it, trained with it. He wasn't about to let some two-bit pirate claim it as a trophy. Still, he forced himself to remain composed. There would be a time to take it back. His fingers twitched as he shifted slightly against the ropes, instinctively checking his belt. His threaded cane was gone—but Link's Poké Ball was still there.

Arlo let out a quiet breath of relief. The pirates hadn't found it. At least something had gone in his favor. If they had taken that, this entire ship would have been a graveyard by now.

A sudden commotion snapped him back to reality. He turned his head just in time to see Elizabeth being pushed toward the edge of the plank, swords pointed at her back. Jack stood next in line, his usual amused expression betraying little of what he was thinking.

From beside him, Will let out a muffled yell, still bound by the pirates. He thrashed violently before spitting out his gag and shouting, "You lying bastard! You swore she'd go free!"

Barbossa, standing near the wheel, didn't even flinch. He simply turned his head toward Will, his expression cool and unbothered.

"Don't dare impugn me honor, boy!" he said sharply. "I agreed she'd go free, but it was you who failed to specify when nor where.

Arlo let out a slow breath through his nose. Should've seen that one coming. Turning slightly, he whispered to Gibbs and Anamaria, "We need to find a way to escape."

Gibbs let out a gruff scoff. "How exactly do ye propose we do that, lad? In case ye haven't noticed, we're tied up."

Anamaria, just as unimpressed, muttered, "Even if we get loose, we're still outnumbered."

Arlo watched the scene unfold, calculating. "I'm thinking."

Then, a familiar memory surfaced in his mind from the original movie. Slowly, he smirked. He leaned in again and whispered, "We just need to wait until nightfall."

Gibbs and Anamaria glanced at each other, puzzled, but before they could question him, the situation on deck escalated. Elizabeth stood at the edge of the plank, hesitating as the pirates jeered and laughed, enjoying the spectacle. Then, she untied her dress, letting it slip from her shoulders, leaving her in only a silk slip. The movement was unexpected even the pirates stopped laughing for a second, watching in confusion. With a smirk, she threw the dress at Barbossa, who caught it out of reflex. Then she jumped.

A collective gasp swept through the crew as Elizabeth plunged into the ocean below. For a brief moment, there was silence then raucous laughter erupted from the pirates.

Jack, still standing on the plank, couldn't help but chuckle as well. "That's interesting," he mused. But his laughter was cut off as the pirates grabbed him next, pushing him forward.

One pirate handed Jack's pistol to Barbossa, who examined it briefly before tossing it high into the air. The pistol spun before splashing into the sea below. Jack's amusement vanished. His eyes widened slightly as he quickly jumped after it, diving into the water.

Arlo watched from his position at the mast, his expression unreadable. Now, he could only hope Elizabeth and Jack survived their time on the island until they are save.
