Reinhardt stepped forward and extended the egg with both hands. The Queen stared at it, stunned. At first glance, the egg might look like it was laid by some beast. However, when she looked at it carefully, she felt its powerful and ancient presence.
Even without knowing what it was, she instinctively knew that the thing was immeasurably precious.
"My knight," the Queen asked, her eyes never leaving the egg, "what is this… and why are you giving me something so extraordinary?"
Reinhardt smiled. "This egg will protect you from now on."
He had sworn an oath to protect her and keep her from harm's way no matter what. However, as a knight and hero of Solaris, his duty was such that he could not just stay in one place constantly.
