Chapter 198 - Where’s the Title?

"How do you have something like this? Earth is extremely far away from here." Seeing what Tohka was holding, Star-Lord instantly couldn't stay calm. He'd been away from Earth for so many years. Although he hadn't really longed for it after his mother died, this was still the first Earth-made product he'd seen in all this time in space. No matter what, it was something to cherish.

"Relax, relax. Haven't you heard of the Bifrost?" Hearing Star-Lord's question, Tohka only spoke half a sentence. She'd let him fill in the rest with his imagination—she really didn't feel like explaining everything.

"Mm." After hearing Tohka's words, Star-Lord simply nodded and didn't say any more. After all, Asgard's Bifrost was too famous across the universe. That thing was a fusion of technology and magic, something no other civilization could replicate. But since he didn't have any relatives left on Earth, and he wasn't very familiar with Tohka, it was hard to ask her to take him there.

"By the way, if I give you my entire share of the money, will you help me kill Thanos?" But just then, Gamora walked over and spoke to Tohka in a voice filled with intense hatred. And when Gamora said this, nearly everyone turned their eyes to Tohka. There was no helping it—Thanos was extremely notorious in the universe. But Tohka basically had no reputation at all. How could Gamora expect her to go kill Thanos? Wasn't that just sending her to her death?

"Hey hey, isn't that a bit much? I mean, she's the one who helped us escape. How can you ask her to throw her life away?" Star-Lord hurriedly broke the awkward atmosphere. In his eyes, there was no way Tohka could be a match for Thanos.

"Shut up. This has nothing to do with you. I spent too long under Thanos, but the pressure she gives me feels even stronger than his." Gamora shot Star-Lord a glance and immediately cut him off.

"I refuse. I won't go hunt down Thanos." Tohka didn't even think about it before interrupting Gamora: "Leaving aside Thanos's strength, that guy has been blessed by the Goddess of Death. Killing him isn't so easy. And when I say the Goddess of Death, I don't mean some lesser deity—I mean one of the Five Creation Gods. Trying to kill him would be a huge hassle."

This wasn't something Tohka was making up. At this point, Thanos's strength was actually inferior to Odin's. If it was just about defeating him, she was pretty confident. But killing him was another matter entirely. The most likely outcome would be the two of them fighting for days and nights without a result. And Tohka knew Thanos was definitely shrewd—who knew what traps he'd set for her?

"Mm?" Hearing Tohka's words, Gamora only frowned. After that, she didn't say anything else. After all, her request really had been a bit presumptuous. In her eyes, Tohka had no reason to offend Thanos. They had absolutely nothing to do with each other, so she let it drop.

"All right. Let's go get some rest. Call me when you all arrive at your destination." Glancing at the silent group, Tohka didn't say anything more. She just pulled Miku away and left. After all, she was the one who'd dragged everyone out of prison, and they hadn't gone through the usual ordeal together, so the relationships between them were pretty superficial. Especially Drax the Destroyer—his role was extremely awkward right now. He didn't really know any of them; he'd simply run off with them to look for Ronan or Thanos to avenge his family. As for how to get everyone working together, Tohka couldn't be bothered to manage it. That was up to Star-Lord—he'd always been the de facto leader of the Guardians, and if he could do it in the original story, he could do it now.

"Tohka, where are we going? And…is this space?" In the cabin under the spacecraft, Miku clung to Tohka, gazing at the brilliant starry sky outside.

"Heh, the universe is huge. If I'm not mistaken, the place we're headed to next is truly spectacular. I bet you've never seen such a massive life-form." Tohka already knew where they were going. But she wasn't ready to say just yet. After all, that place could be considered one of the wonders of the universe. It was like Star-Lord's father in the movies—though in the comics, his father was the king of a galactic empire. But here, the story followed the film universe, so Tohka could be sure that guy's father was that living planet. Why? Because she could sense a special energy emanating from him.

"Mm, a life-form?" Miku looked at Tohka in confusion. But Tohka had already lost interest in talking and instead lazily let out a yawn.

"All right, there's still a ways to go. Let's get some sleep first." Tohka looked tiredly at Miku. She couldn't be bothered to say more. Sleeping on the way was practically a tradition for her. Back when she'd traveled to America with Tony Stark, she'd napped the whole way on his military jet. So now she simply leaned against Miku's shoulder and fell asleep.

"Is she doing this on purpose? This is a rare chance to travel through space, you know." Watching Tohka in exasperation, Miku had no idea how she could stay so calm. When they'd flown from Xandar to this cosmic prison, they'd been in a sealed transport and couldn't see anything. And back then, Tohka had just calmly slept the whole trip. Now she was doing it again. Miku simply didn't have that kind of mindset.

While Tohka slept and Miku stared blankly at the stars, Star-Lord and the others clumsily piloted the ship toward their destination. Luckily, because they all shared a common goal, they didn't end up fighting. Of course, no one came to bother Tohka and Miku either.

"Tohka, look, look—what's that huge thing over there?" But while Tohka was still deep asleep, Miku shook her awake, her voice full of excitement. She grabbed Tohka's arm and pointed toward a distant celestial body.

"Mm, we're here already? That was fast—it hasn't been long at all." Blinking drowsily, Tohka followed the direction Miku was pointing. Soon, she saw a colossal alien head.

"Tohka, what is that? It looks as big as a planet!" Honestly, it was the first time Miku had ever seen such a gigantic creature, so of course she was curious.

"That's our destination—the head of an ancient life-form." But before Tohka could answer, Gamora, who'd just arrived, explained it to her.
