Above them all, the sky was in pure red chaos. Kaisel, Arthur's wyvern, twisted and roared in agony, red energy tendrils wrapping around his wings and crushing them like iron bands. He struggled, screeching defiantly, but the red aura devoured his strength.

Hovering above him was the source a figure clad in blood-forged armor, the crimson sigil of rage burning bright across his chest. His ring pulsed, flooding the sky in a malicious haze. His eyes, molten coals of fury, narrowed as he looked down.

"You," the Red Lantern growled, his voice gravel soaked in fire. His gaze locked onto Raven and Galatea below. "You smell like him… like the Shadow Lantern. Both of you stink of his corruption."

Raven blinked. "How do you even know what he smells like, weirdo?"

Galatea didn't wait for a reply.

She blasted off the ground in a shockwave of cracked earth and shattered stone, a violet comet with her fist cocked back, aimed directly at the Red Lantern's jaw.

The Red Lantern was ready. A hardlight gauntlet snapped into existence with a molten sizzle, catching her punch dead center. The collision thundered through the air like a grenade, the shockwave ripping clouds apart around them.

He smirked. A dark, deranged curl to his lips.

"Impressive shadow creature. What are you? A reflection? A puppet? Or just another nuisance conjured by that pretender in black?"

Galatea's teeth clenched, violet eyes glowing hotter.

"Shut your ugly mouth."

She fired twin beams of heat vision, cutting through the red haze like twin lances of solar fire. The Lantern dipped back, narrowly dodging the strike, his body moving with a wild predator's grace.

Before she could follow up, something shifted an energy ripple from the side.

Another construct shot through the air like a whip of barbed rage, aimed straight for Galatea's side. But before it struck

A black barrier of arcane sigils intercepted it mid-air. The construct shattered in a brilliant red burst.

Hovering inches away from Galatea's flank, cloak billowing with arcane winds, was Raven. Her expression was calm, but her eyes were burning.

"There's two of them," she said quietly, her voice laced with tension.

Galatea didn't even look. Her focus was locked onto the first Lantern.

"I've noticed, the little cat is also a lantern.." she said with a slight curl of her lip. "You handle the kitty. I'll handle this freak."

Raven smirked faintly, already casting a new spell as the second Red Lantern revealed themselves from the crimson mist above the estate, a literal cat.

Below them, the air shimmered with raw heat. Above, Kaisel's cry echoed faintly as he began to recover and circle back in the distance.

Galatea moved again.

With a sonic boom that cracked the sky, she vanished from her place only to reappear mid-air inches from the Red Lantern's face. Her fist, glowing with raw violet power, smashed into his conjured gauntlet with an explosion of light and kinetic force.

The impact sent them both flying Galatea backflipping mid-air, the Lantern grinding through the air before righting himself, boots glowing red from the sheer force.

He licked blood from the side of his mouth, smiling like a lunatic.

"You hit hard, shadow girl.." he sneered, voice dripping with arrogance, "But I've burned warriors that hit harder."

Galatea spun once, blasting forward again like a missile. She feinted left, then twisted her body in a spiral, planting her knee directly into his gut before spinning low and sweeping his legs from the air. He fell, but caught himself with a construct only to be blasted in the chest by twin heat beams.

He roared as his armor cracked, flying backward into a crumbling rooftop.

Below, Raven had her own problem.

The second Red Lantern, the cat rushed her with blades made of blood-light, spinning in mid-air like a bladed hurricane. Raven ducked the first strike, flicked her wrist, and summoned a portal. The blade passed through it only to appear behind the cat's own back.

She smirked. "Checkmate."

The cat twisted unnaturally to dodge his own redirected attack, eyes narrowing.

"Of course, you are smarter than a simple cat.." Raven said calmly. "I guess it won't be that easy."

She snapped her fingers a burst of shadow magic ignited from beneath him, dozens of black spectral chains grabbing his limbs mid-spin and slamming him into the ground like a comet.

The earth split under the impact. Dust and red energy flared.

Above, Galatea and her opponent clashed again, this time with such speed they became afterimages to the human eye.

The Red Lantern summoned a giant whip-like construct, coiling through the sky.

"Die beneath the crimson rage!"

Galatea smirked and flew through the construct, ripping through it with her shoulder like a bullet. She spun once, flew behind him, and cracked his head forward with an elbow. He twisted mid-air, angry now, and launched a barrage of red spears.

She flew through the barrage, got clipped in the side but didn't flinch and slammed him into a far building mid-flight, her hand gripping his throat.

"My king may command me,"she hissed in his face, "but this beating? This one's personal, and I'll enjoy it freak."

She lifted him, only for him to erupt with red rage energy and blow them both back in a blinding blast.

They landed hard. Skid marks dug across the sky and rooftops. Galatea recovered.

Raven appeared beside her, floating, arms crossed.

"You done?"

Galatea cracked her neck.

"Not yet.. Not even close."

Raven flicked her eyes behind her where the cat Lantern was rising, clearly pissed.

"Good."

And then the Red Lanterns moved in sync.

The cat-like Lantern blurred forward, while the larger berserker reappeared behind Galatea with a hammer construct, descending from the sky like thunder. Raven spun to counter, but it was a feint. The feline leapt, spinning mid-air, slashing across Raven's ribs and tossing her aside like a ragdoll. Her scream was caught in her throat.

Galatea twisted, ready to intercept, but the berserker was already there. He grabbed her mid-flight, and slammed her through the estate's west section with such force the windows exploded outward.

Before she could even recover, a red construct sword formed above her, and drove down piercing her chest.

The entire battlefield froze for a moment.

Galatea fell to her knees, head bowed, eyes unfocused. Black smoke rising from her. The red blade still lodged in her chest, glowing, humming with rage energy.

Raven, coughing and rising from the rubble, eyes wide with horror, whispered

"No…"

She stumbled toward her.

But then her expression shifted.

"Wait…"

A memory came back. A smile. Arthur's voice:

"They're not made of flesh anymore, Raven. They're shadows. Death's just an inconvenience, they will endlessly regenerate as long as I have power, they will keep coming until they fulfill whatever I want."

Raven narrowed her eyes, the panic fading.

"Nevermind."

Because Galatea was smiling.

Still on her knees, her glowing violet eyes lifted to the berserker standing over her. Her voice was quiet devout.

"At once, my king.."

The red construct sword still protruded from her chest as her body crackled with shadow energy, her wounds already starting to regenerate with black tendrils of smoke weaving through her.

And then

BOOM.

A shockwave split the sky.

Something hit the Red Lantern Berserker like a meteor from orbit.

A blur. A crash.

The berserker was buried beneath rubble, coughing blood, bones shattered, constructs flickering.

The feline Red Lantern looked up, confused, disoriented, hissing

A voice came. Calm and cold.

"I was wondering which fool had the audacity to lay hands on my soldiers…"

The feline froze.

"…especially those closest to my loved ones."

The red energy around him dimmed. He looked up.

And saw it.

Him.

Floating. Eyes glowing violet. Lightning crackling across his Demon King Longsword. His cloak billowing unnaturally, as if the air itself bowed before him.

Arthur Blackwynd.

His boots touched down slowly, the ground quaking beneath him. The sky darkened, clouds spiraling overhead, and Kaisel let out a shriek in the distance.

The feline lantern turned pale.

And then the larger Red Lantern the berserker rose again, bloodied, shaking, and tried to lift a construct.

Arthur didn't even blink.

"Atrocitus… and his little pet.."
