Chapter 443 - Chapter 660: Summon?

Both of Julian's Pokémon possessed exceptional mobility and the ability to fly, giving them a significant advantage against Serperior and Leafeon, who were grounded.

On top of that, Mega Metagross could use Teleport—a move that other Metagross couldn't learn.

Facing the relentless assault from Serperior and Leafeon, the two air-borne Pokémon relied on their superior speed and maintained distance, effortlessly dodging every attack.

After several exchanges, Serperior and Leafeon hadn't even grazed Mega Metagross or Moltres.

"Serperior, use Vine Whip to grab Metagross first!" William couldn't help but call out.

But Serperior merely glanced at him coldly, completely ignoring his command.

At the level of Serperior and Leafeon, these Pokémon would only obey their own trainers. Anyone else trying to command them was futile—unless that person had watched them grow up and spent enough time with them to build deep trust.

Seeing this, William let out a helpless, bitter laugh. Though inwardly furious, he didn't dare show it.

His bond with these two Pokémon was nowhere near close enough.

He'd only wanted to try, and unsurprisingly, they completely ignored him.

Serperior: 'These two bugs.'

Countless emerald-green leaves materialized around it, each brimming with overwhelming Grass-type energy. It was no exaggeration to say that just one of these leaves could seriously injure an Elite-level Pokémon.

Serperior: 'Let's see you dodge this.'

The leaves shot out—it was clearly using Magical Leaf.

As a move that never misses, Magical Leaf couldn't be dodged. The only way to deal with it was to block it or overpower it.

"Metagross, Steel Beam! Moltres, Flamethrower!" Julian immediately called out.

Silver and red beams clashed head-on with Serperior's Magical Leaf. As the attacks collided, a massive shockwave erupted, sweeping through the battlefield like a hurricane.

Steel Beam and Flamethrower barely managed to hold off the attack.

But Serperior wasn't fighting alone.

While the two sides were in a stalemate, Leafeon opened its mouth and fired an emerald-green Energy Ball, no larger than a basketball—yet the power condensed within could easily flatten a small town.

At this moment, Mega Metagross and Moltres were trapped. If they stopped their attacks, they'd be hit by Magical Leaf. But if they persisted, Leafeon's Energy Ball would strike them.

The two were caught in a lose-lose situation.

William's face broke into a triumphant grin.

Yet, in the next second—his victorious expression froze.

Suddenly, the power of Moltres's Flamethrower surged violently—its intensity multiplying five or six times, easily overpowering Serperior's Magical Leaf.

At the same time, Mega Metagross Teleported in front of the Energy Ball and smashed it apart with a Meteor Mash.

BOOM!

The explosion sent Mega Metagross flying backward, but the Energy Ball had been successfully blocked.

Meanwhile, Moltres's Flamethrower had also completely burned away the remaining Magical Leaf.

Panting heavily, Moltres steadied itself. That sudden burst of power had drained a significant portion of its stamina—nearly half its energy was spent in that single attack.

Fortunately, as a Legendary Pokémon, its stamina reserves were vast, and its recovery speed was remarkably fast too.

"Dad, why aren't you here yet…"

Julian frowned.

If Moltres hadn't suddenly pushed beyond its limit to hold off that Magical Leaf—allowing Mega Metagross to deal with the Energy Ball—this battle might have already been over.

But relying on such unpredictable bursts was risky, and the cost was too high.

If the fight continued like this, unless Serperior and Leafeon made a huge mistake, Julian basically had no chance of winning. The odds were stacked over 90% in favor of his defeat.

'Forget it. Time to summon Mewtwo.'

Julian wasn't the type to gamble with his life.

The only reason he dared to face two Champion-level Pokémon with just Mega Metagross and Moltres was not because he thought he could win, but because he had an unbeatable trump card.

Currently, he possessed 20 Mewtwo Fragments. Collecting 100 would allow him to permanently summon Mewtwo.

But even using just 10 fragments could temporarily summon Mewtwo for five minutes.

Five minutes wouldn't be enough to take on a First-class Legendary, but against two Champion-level opponents? That was more than enough time to kill them a hundred times over.

The only downside? Mewtwo Fragments were ridiculously hard to obtain.

"You three are dead!"

Julian shouted at William, Serperior, and Leafeon.

Mega Metagross: "Damn, so bold."

Moltres: "Does he have another trump card?"

Mega Metagross: 'Trump card? What trump card? How come I don't know about it…'

Just as Julian was about to use the fragments—

"WHO DARES HURT MY SON?!"

A furious roar came from afar, making Julian pause instinctively.

Turning his head, he saw a streak of white light closing in at terrifying speed—within seconds, the figure had landed right in front of him.

"Dad!"

Julian's face lit up at the sight of Jake, whose hair was swept back wildly from the wind, his expression a mix of exhaustion and rage.

'Finally, you're here—good thing I didn't use them yet.'

Moltres had a look of realization: 'Ah. So Master's trump card was… Dad Summoning Jutsu.'

Jake quickly looked Julian up and down, relieved to see he was unharmed—though his face, disguised by a Ditto, looked a bit odd.

Julian, in turn, studied his father with equal curiosity. 'He's also wearing a Ditto mask.'

If not for his familiar voice and the Skarmory beneath him, Julian might not have recognized him at all.

So now, this father and son pair stood facing each other—looking both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

"You're Jake Walker?"

Hearing Julian call the man "Dad," William immediately tensed up.

"Me? The dashing, irresistible Elite Jake? No, no—I'm just an ordinary trainer of Wyvernia."

William's face instantly darkened at the painfully familiar phrasing.

'Like father, like son'—they really were two of a kind. They both said the exact same thing, treating him like an idiot.

With Jake's arrival, the situation had completely changed.

William realized this too, subtly reaching for the communicator he carried on him at all times.

"Pick one," Jake said casually.

"Leafeon," Julian replied without hesitation, choosing the weaker of the two.

"All right."

"Son, today, your old man's got your back," Jake said with a wide grin.

In the next second, a Poké Ball on his belt opened automatically—

A Metagross identical to Julian's appeared.

Level 89.

"Meta~"

Metagross glanced at Serperior, then at Julian's own Metagross.

Moltres, staring at the two near-identical steel titans, couldn't help but ask: "Is that your dad?"

Mega Metagross: "No."

Both Metagross were offspring split from John's original Metagross—so they were more like brothers… or sisters, since Metagross were genderless.

"Metagross—Mega Evolve!" Jake commanded.

In the next instant, a Mega Metagross at level 91—early-stage Champion—appeared.
