Chapter 8 - Episode 8

The air remained heavy, suffocating with silence.

The battlefield was still.

Then—

A soft voice broke through.

Raziel Speaks

Raziel:"…I would kill them, but..."

His grip on the red knife loosened slightly.

His black-dripping gaze slowly drifted across the battlefield, taking in every detail.

"I still want to know what that 'ki' thing is… and… what other things work, like…"

His expression remained unreadable, but his tone carried something new—

Curiosity.

"How those humans are flying… and…"

His eyes briefly flickered toward Whis.

The towering figure, standing untouched, unmoving, observing.

"I'm still unsure about that one with the tall white hair… Even in the places, and—"

Then—

His words stopped.

Because—

Something changed.

A faint pulse of energy.

Then—

A vanishing.

One of the Kais disappeared.

Gone.

Completely.

Not erased. Not destroyed.

Just—ceased to exist.

Raziel Reacts

Raziel's eyes widened slightly.

For the first time, confusion flickered across his face.

Raziel:"That…"

His red gaze flickered toward the spot where the Supreme Kai had stood.

"Why did only one of those England copies suddenly vanish?..."

The battlefield remained dead silent.

But now—

Everyone's attention shifted.

Because those words carried a new weight.

A realization was setting in.

And only one person in the universe could answer it.

The moment Raziel's question echoed through the battlefield—

All eyes turned toward Whis.

And for the first time in the battle—

The angel spoke.

Whis Explains

Whis let out a soft sigh, his usual calm demeanor unchanged, yet heavier than before.

"My, my… what a troublesome situation."

He took a slow step forward, his staff lightly tapping against the ground.

Then—he turned to Raziel.

"That 'England copy,' as you so eloquently put it, was the East Supreme Kai… the very same who was linked to Lord Beerus' life force."

He slowly lifted his free hand, gesturing toward the spot where the Supreme Kai once stood.

"You see… Beerus was not just a God of Destruction—his very existence was tied to that Supreme Kai. If one perishes… so does the other."

His blue eyes glimmered, unreadable.

"And so… with Beerus gone…"

His hand lowered.

"So is he."

The Universe Shifts

The weight of Whis' words sank in.

Goku's eyes widened, his fists tightening.

"T-Then… does that mean—"

The Supreme Kai of Universe 7—gone.

Beerus—gone.

The balance of destruction and creation—shattered.

Even Frieza, despite his amusement, narrowed his eyes slightly.

This was a true shift.

A god was dead.

Not erased. Not removed.

But killed.

And for the first time in history—

A universe had lost its God of Destruction.

The very laws of the cosmos were now in question.

Whis' Focus Returns to Raziel

Then—Whis turned back to Raziel.

His voice remained calm, yet his words carried deep concern.

"You truly are… quite the anomaly."

His eyes carefully studied Raziel.

"No ki. No way to track your energy. No way to measure your strength… and yet, you have managed to do something that not even the strongest beings in the universe have dared to accomplish."

He took a slow step forward, tilting his head slightly.

"Tell me, Raziel… now that you have slain a God of Destruction…"

His expression darkened slightly.

"What exactly… do you plan to do next?"

The battlefield remained eerily silent.

Raziel's twisted expression remained unchanged, but his red-lined eyes burned with something new—frustration. Confusion.

His fingers twitched slightly, gripping his red knife, yet—he did not attack.

Instead—

He spoke.

Raziel's Demands

Raziel:"...What are you?"

His voice carried weight, intensity.

"How are those two humans flying?"

His eyes flickered toward Goku and Vegeta, still hovering above the battlefield.

"Why do I see a strange… whatever type of fish thing monster may be inside a… an orb of fish task or something…?"

His gaze darted toward the Oracle Fish, who had remained silent, watching nervously from the distance.

"And… everything!"

His voice rose slightly, edged with raw frustration.

"The 'ki' thing people keep mentioning, including you! What is it?! And… why are you reacting like… this?!"

Then—he stopped.

His eyes locked onto Whis.

A realization hit him.

His head tilted slightly, a slow smirk creeping back onto his face.

"I literally killed your cat."

His expression flickered with something unsettling.

"I mean… aren't you the owner of that cat?"

Whis' Response

A soft breeze passed through the battlefield.

Then—

Whis smiled.

But—

It wasn't his usual playful, carefree smile.

No.

This one was different.

Calculated. Cold. Unreadable.

He closed his eyes for a moment, letting out a soft chuckle.

"My, my… such an interesting perspective."

He slowly opened his eyes again, their blue glow sharper than before.

"To answer your first question—I am an Angel."

His voice was steady, unwavering.

"I serve not only as an attendant but as a guide to the Gods of Destruction… including the one you just killed."

His smile lingered, yet his gaze held something deeper.

"As for how those 'humans' are flying… it is because of the very energy you do not possess—ki."

He lifted his staff slightly, twirling it once with elegance.

"Ki is the life force that exists in all living things in this universe. It can be controlled, manipulated, shaped into power. It is the foundation of strength for mortals and gods alike."

His smile widened slightly.

"But you… you have none."

A pause.

"Which, I must say… is rather intriguing."

His eyes flickered toward the Oracle Fish at Raziel's earlier remark.

"And the 'fish monster' you mentioned? That is the Oracle Fish. A being who occasionally has visions of the future… though, I must admit, he did not foresee this little event unfolding."

The Oracle Fish floated in the distance, clearly unsettled.

Then—

Whis took a step forward.

His smile remained, but his next words carried weight.

"Now, to your most interesting question of all…"

His gaze locked directly onto Raziel.

"Why am I reacting like… this?"

A soft chuckle.

"Why am I not mourning Lord Beerus' death? Why am I not seeking revenge?"

He tapped his staff lightly against the ground.

"Simple."

His smile deepened.

"I do not interfere."

His voice remained calm, but the very air around them seemed to shift.

"As an Angel, I am forbidden from taking action in matters such as this. I merely observe. I guide. But I do not fight, nor do I hold grudges."

His smile never wavered, yet his words were absolute.

"Lord Beerus' death is… unfortunate. But I feel no anger. No sadness. No desire to avenge him."

Then—he tilted his head slightly, observing Raziel with deep curiosity.

"But I must admit… you are rather fascinating. A being with no ki, outside the natural laws of this universe, who has achieved what no mortal nor god has done before."

His blue eyes shimmered faintly.

"Tell me, Raziel… now that you understand a little more about this world…"

His smile darkened—just slightly.

"What will you do next?"

A slow tilt of the head.

Raziel's red-lined eyes narrowed slightly, his expression shifting to one of deep analysis.

His mind raced. Processing. Comparing.

Then—he spoke.

Raziel's Analysis

Raziel:"So… that was ki..."

His voice carried a mix of curiosity and realization.

"I guess by your… explanation… it's the full and only sustain of souls, and what brings all power…"

His grip on his knife loosened slightly, his posture more relaxed.

"But… let me tell you this…"

A faint smirk.

"What I have is something similar, and yet… different."

His eyes flickered, glancing at his own hands.

"I have magic. It's the same as this… 'ki'… but it has its own differences."

Then—his gaze snapped back toward Whis.

"And… so you are an Angel, as you say…"

A small chuckle.

"Aren't Gods supposed to be above Angels? Like… Angels fighting for their Gods, and so… dying to protect the Gods, and all that stuff? And not… this?"

His head tilted further, his grin growing wider.

"In what kind of place am I…?"

Then—his grin vanished.

His eyes widened slightly, his expression twisting into something unreadable.

"This is just… splendid."

Raziel's Expressive Confusion

Then—he started moving.

His body language changed entirely.

His shoulders shrugged repeatedly.

His hands waved aimlessly, fingers twitching in visible frustration.

His head tilted to the sides—once, twice, over and over—

His eyes scanned everything around him.

He was confused. Dumbfounded. Overwhelmed.

And every single person there watched him.

Everyone's Reactions

Goku's thoughts:

"Man… he's powerful, but he kinda reminds me of Vegeta. Strong, starts out bad, but maybe… maybe he's not all bad?"

He scratched the back of his head, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.

"Still… this guy is nothing like anyone we've ever fought before."

Vegeta's thoughts:

His arms remained crossed.

His eyes never left Raziel.

His expression unreadable.

But inside—

His pride screamed caution.

"Beerus was a god. A true force of destruction."

"And now, he's dead."

"Which means… this thing is beyond that level."

Vegeta's fists clenched slightly.

"Tch… I refuse to believe there's no limit to him. There has to be. Everyone has a limit."

"…Right?"

Frieza's thoughts:

Frieza's golden eyes gleamed with pure enjoyment.

"Ho ho ho ho~…"

He was utterly entertained.

Not just by Raziel's power.

But by his expressiveness. His gestures. His body language.

"So theatrical~…"

He chuckled softly, his tail flicking behind him.

"I do so enjoy watching a mind in chaos."

Raziel Talks to Himself

Raziel's movements didn't stop.

He muttered, half-whispering, half-speaking loudly, lost in his own mind.

Raziel:"A fish that sees the future… Angels above Gods… A new soul source of fuel and power… Humans flying… and… 'ki' attacks…"

His hands twitched again, fingers moving as if grasping invisible concepts.

"In what did I get into…?"

A low chuckle.

"No, this is just… too much new stuff to learn."

Then—his expression darkened slightly.

"Yeah, maybe… true, true…"

His eyes flickered redder for a moment.

"Maybe this 'ki' thing can improve the human souls we have…?"

His head twitched slightly to the side.

"Well, we can find out, and yet…"

A pause.

"Yeah, I don't know how much, but… maybe one of these human souls is equivalent to millions of the human souls we have…?"

His eyes briefly flickered toward Beerus' corpse.

"That cat gave too much Exp… almost a trillion of Exp…"

A low laugh.

"Yeah, here, it seems like power is by another way… how am I supposed to know?"

Then—his eyes flickered toward Whis.

"Maybe that gray-female 'Angel' with tower hair knows…?"

A pause.

"Well, I mean… yeah yeah…"

His fingers twitched again, thoughts racing.

"Alright, maybe they can teach me? Imagine what I could learn… so many new magic attacks…"

Then—his expression shifted slightly.

"Alright, maybe it ends up being useless…"

Then—a new thought.

His eyes snapped toward Frieza.

"Well, how about what Frieza, the Emperor, said before? Universe 7… I don't know whatever Kai thing… that 7 means something…"

His head twitched again.

"Yeah, I also wonder what kind of multiverse exists here…"

Then—his smile returned.

"Well, in that case, I would have just killed the God of Destruction, and need to do the same with Creation. But I don't think it works like that in here."

His eyes flickered.

"That Angel said it…"

A pause.

"No, I know it wasn't said in a literal way, but you know what I mean. Guiding."

Then—his expression sharpened.

"Exactly. If this Kai was soul-bonded to the God of Destruction, maybe there's more than one, maybe… exactly!"

A low chuckle.

"Imagine how much Exp and Lv we can grind…!"

Then—a pause.

His head tilted.

"That is a… yeah, a good question, but… we'll figure it out."

Then—his eyes flickered toward Frieza.

"Do you think Frieza may have a decent reward…?"

Then—a smirk.

"Well, I mean… did you see that spaceship? It looks sick and awesome…!"

A pause.

"Yeah, it was my first time too, seeing space… having the stars so close…"

A small, unreadable smile.

"Yeah, maybe… maybe, but I'm not sure…"

His head twitched slightly one more time.

"Yeah, alright. Let's continue and proceed forward…"

Raziel Returns to Frieza

Then—

Raziel turned sharply.

His expression reset—calm, neutral.

His body straightened.

He took a slow step forward.

Then another.

Then—he walked straight back to Frieza's side.

The battlefield remained silent.

The universe had changed.

And now—

Raziel was just getting started.
