Chapter 42 - "Haha~!

"How did it go?" Tsunade asked Akane, who appeared beside him.

"It went from well," Akane replied without thinking much. Noticing his dry response, Tsunade understood he was still processing everything he had done before, and it would take some time for him to recover from it.

'Or maybe not,'

Noticing different expressions appearing on his face, Tsunade understood that Akane would soon find a reason and solution for the mental problem, and she stood beside him silently.

"I am okay now,"

A few minutes later, Akane said the words and his usual look appeared on his face. Tsunade didn't ask what things he had thought since she knew no one should ask what a man was thinking seriously.

"Let's go, I have found the way to the camp. We will be able to take care of them with just two of us." Akane said with a confident look on his face, and Tsunade nodded at his words. She looked around and, thinking of something, she asked, "What about them? Where are they?"

"I asked Zetsu to take them away, I think they will have use for us in future."

Tsunade nodded with an approving look in her eyes as she heard his words. She had been planning to ask him to keep them as a captive, as they might have use in future, and she didn't think he would leave them alive, considering how secretive and overthinking he is.

"What?" Looking at the proud look in her eyes, Akane wondered what thoughts she was having in her mind. Thinking for a moment, he decided not to bother her with her thoughts as he knew that they could be as simple as a class 2 math problem or as complex as calculus problems in Universities.

"Let's go then, it's time to take care of these and then move to our location," Tsunade said a moment later, and Akane nodded. They disappeared from the place while Tsunade left a Shadow clone to clear off their traces in the location. After all, she knew that even if ANBU had missed their location, they would try to look for her here and there, and their traces could lead them to them.

It didn't take long for them to reach the camp's location. Akane and Tsunade decided to stay a few hundred metres away from the camp, and there, Akane thought of the information he obtained from the Jonin.

"Five Jonin, 9 Chunin and 12 Genins. I am amazed that so many Iwa Ninjas are away from the village together and near the border." Akane murmured, and he thought of the vague history he could remember from Naruto manga.

'The Second and Third Shinobi War. Not many things were shown, so I don't have any idea of the event that happened with Iwa. That guy had no information about the mission since he was in the scout team.'

"You are right, these Iwa bastards! I wonder what plans they have." Tsunade cursed, and she was really curious about the plans they had. She knew that they had big plans since setting a camp near the borders was a dangerous game for all the countries around the borders, and Tsunade was sure that some small nation had decided to become Iwa's ally.

"So how are we dealing with this?" Akane asked Tsunade, who started to think of something. She looked at Akane, who drew the base diagram of the camp and marked the places where one or another was staying and guarding.

"This is where Jonin are staying. These chunins are guarding these points, and Genins are for menial work, or I should say the cannon fodder to leave in case something happens."

Tsunade looked at the map and started to analyse it. Focusing on the map, she found a weak point using which she could deal a fatal blow to them and started to explain the plan to Akane.

When Akane heard the plan, he started to analyse it, and when he was sure that it would work, he nodded at her.

"But remember the important thing. Kill only two Jonins, 4 Chunin and the Genins while capturing the rest if you can. Destroy their head to make sure no information can be taken away from them, and we will only add these guys to the report."

Tsunade spoke with a serious expression on her face, and Akane understood what she was trying to say.

"I will do what I can," Akane replied after thinking for a moment, and Tsunade nodded at his words. He communicated with Zetsu to send a few Zetsus to wait around the camp and then act on his orders.

After Akane had given orders to Zetsu, he nodded at Tsunade. Now they just had to wait for the time when one Jonin switched to another for the shift, and that was the time to break in the camp.

"What should we do till then?" Akane asked Tsunade, who started to think of something. She thought of something, and an idea came to her mind, "Show me what you got from that guy's memories, I want to see the inner workings of Iwagakure and how people live there."

Akane looked at Tsunade for a moment, and some thoughts appeared in his mind. When he watched the scenes, he didn't feel much since he knew whether it be the people of Konoha or the people of Iwa or the people of Suna, all of them might have different ways of living, but at the basics, they were the same.

They all need water to drink, food to eat, clothes to wear and a roof to sleep under. Or he should say that the common people everywhere had similar, if not the same, needs. The fight, rivalry and greed start when they grow from their basic needs to getting what they want and moving to a higher class of living instead of a standard one.

"Sure," Akane said, wondering what her reaction would be, and he created a Shadow Clone. Tsunade did the same, and she started to sleep by knocking herself out. Akane could use the ability whenever he wanted, and they were being guarded by the two shadow clones who kept the watch.

"These two, don't you think they are getting too dependent on an ability that can work only in certain situations?"

Akane's Shadow clone, who couldn't use the dream manipulation ability, murmured the words, and Tsunade's Shadow clone looked at him.

"Now that you mention it, I wonder why only he can use the ability, but his Shadow clone can't? Is it because of fewer chakras or something?" Tsunade's Shadow clone spoke with a thoughtful face, and they looked at each other. A grin appeared on their faces as they felt like they had just had similar thoughts in their mind, and Akane's clone said, "Did you think the same thing I did?"

"Yeah, let's talk the thoughts out. Rest will be handled by 'us' since we won't be there."

"Since you said it, I will ask the question 'I' always had in my mind." Tsunade's clone took a deep breath before speaking and finally asked the question Tsunade had had in her mind for a long time.

"Besides us, how many people's dreams have you experienced? Like how you met Kaguya, did you meet others too randomly?"

Hearing her words, Akane's clone started to think. He understood what Tsunade meant, but he couldn't tell her how he knew Kaguya and others from way before, and no meeting in a dream was random.

"Not much, many were stupid ones like the fantasy of a baker, the fantasy of becoming a leader and the fantasy of committing crimes. I also gained some control over my powers, and I can stop the random meetings if I control myself, but that leaves me tired."

Tsunade's clone started at Akane's clone as she heard his words. She felt like he was telling the truth, but at the same time, hiding a few things too. As for what those things were, it was up to Tsunade to figure out, and for now, she just had to ask the questions she usually wouldn't.

"Between the three of us, who will be the main one? Or I should ask, who do you love most?"

With a mischievous smile, Tsunade's clone said those words and hearing her, Akane's clone chuckled.

"I was expecting this question, but not at the start. I guess this is expected from 'you'."

"Haha~! Yeah, I am sure other things 'I' want to ask will be asked by 'me' so I will only ask what 'my's' pride wouldn't allow in normal times."

"Hnn, this question, I will leave it on 'me'. After all, it would be better to listen to this from 'me', wouldn't it?"

"No fun," Hearing the Akane-like answer, Tsunade's clone humphed. She thought she would get the answer and let things happen, but it seemed it wouldn't be easy for her to make Akane admit his real thoughts.

An idea came into Tsunade's mind, and she spoke, "I am sure it's Kaguya or Kushina, that's why you aren't saying anything."

"Think whatever you want," Akane's clone replied with a shrug as he knew what Tsunade's clone was planning, and he closed his eyes. What he had planned from questions and answers was something different, but it seems he didn't have to open the Pandora's box he had in his mind.

'Hah! I wonder how we will fight against Otsutsukis in future. Kaguya alone wouldn't be enough, and after Naruto, Boruto is a blur for me. As for Otsutsukis, I don't even know 1% about them, and who knows if that Shibai bastard is watching and reading my thoughts.'

'Tsk Tsk, too many unknowns, too many variables and too few things known to me.'
