Chapter 4 - Dear diary

I sat on my bed, my new diary open in front of me. I had just finished unpacking my room, and I was feeling a mix of emotions. Excitement for the new adventure, but also sadness and anxiety about leaving behind everything I knew.

I picked up my pen and began to write:

Dear Diary,

Today was a weird day. We finally moved into our new house, and I'm still trying to get used to it. The neighborhood seems nice, and I met a girl named Raya at the store. She seems really nice, and I'm hoping we can be friends.

But despite all the new and exciting things, I couldn't shake off the feeling of sadness. I miss my old home, my old school, and my old friends. I feel like a part of me is missing.

I looked around my new room, trying to take it all in. The walls were painted a soft pink, and the furniture was all new and shiny. But it didn't feel like home yet.

I sighed and continued writing:

I'm scared for tomorrow. I don't know what to expect at my new school. What if I don't make any friends? What if the teachers are mean?

I felt a lump form in my throat as I wrote. I was trying to be brave, but it was hard.

Just then, I heard a knock at my door. It was my mom.

"Hey sweetie, how's it going?" she asked, peeking into my room.

I shrugged. "It's okay, I guess."

My mom smiled and sat down beside me. "I know it's tough to adjust to a new place, but you'll get used to it. And I'll be here to support you every step of the way."

I smiled back, feeling a tiny sense of comfort.

Thanks, Mom.

I closed my diary and leaned over to hug my mom. Maybe tomorrow wouldn't be so bad after all.
