Deactivating the invisibility function of his Nano-Watch and putting his knife away, Icarus stared at the young boy, who had quite rudely started to eat before he could even form a response to his request.
"Wait a second kid, I never said you could eat!" Icarus scolded. "More importantly, how the hell were you able to tell I was there?"
Reon, who was focused on chewing a rabbit leg, looked up at the older gentleman before him.
"How was I able to tell you were there?" Leon looked at Icarus.
"Yes, I -" Icarus cut himself off. "Look, you shouldn't have been able to see me at all, and yet you did, I would like to know how." Icarus spoke demandingly.
"Well, even if someone can't see you they can still sense you in other ways you know, there is more than one sense besides sight, like taste!" Reon said excitedly before taking another bite of rabbit leg.
Icarus sat there looking at Reon for a minute.
[Icarus's Pov]
"Mental Note…
Sgt. Brennand Hope…
Codename- Icarus…
Reconnaissance mission…
Continent - Ornam…
Country - Akram. …
Note 01…
-I arrived in Akram today.
-I am currently residing within a large uninhabited forest within the country of Akram.
-While setting up camp I unexpectedly was discovered by a strange teenage boy, who appears to be from age 15 to 17.
-The boy desperately wanted some of the food that I was cooking.
-Before he approached, I used my Nano-Watch's Invisibility function out of concern that a beast was approaching.
-When the boy arrived he was aware of my presence.
-This child can detect a person's presence with something besides sight.
-He was not using a scanner.
-He has enhanced senses.
- I can not confirm if this is a rare occurrence from this one person, but I can try to find out more information from this child.
"Mental Note Off"
"So hey, kid, what is your name?" Icarus asked in a friendly tone.
"My name is Reon DeValt." Reon answered cordially.
"And what about you, Sir?" asked Reon.
"You can call me Icarus," Icarus said.
"Now that introductions are out of the way, let me ask you this, Reon. From what you know, can everyone in this country do as you did, and know someone is there even without seeing them?" Icarus quickly got to the main matter.
Reon took a second to think about it.
"Well I haven't been in this country for that long to be honest, but I would assume that most everyone can do that." Reon answered honestly with a simple look on his face.
"What the hell?" Icarus couldn't believe it.
Evos, the most technologically advanced civilization in the world, developed the Nano-Watch recently, specifically to support its soldiers on reconnaissance missions, and yet, according to Reon, in this country one of its most relevant functions was meaningless.
What Icarus didn't know was that the senses that Reon possessed was something beyond the normal five senses.
Kinshi was a mystical force in this world. Those that could sense and understand this force could harbor it, and use it to do spectacular things.
One such thing was to sense intentions, which is how Reon knew he was there although he could not see him. Still, depending on how well a person could control their own thoughts, and emotions, the harder it was to sense their intentions.
"I see…this is bullshit." Icarus mumbled.
"Huh?" Reon looked confused.
"There is absolutely no way a something like this would be unknown by evos". Icarus reassured himself in his mind. "This has to be a lie."
The reason Icarus had such a hard time accepting this was that, as a technologically advanced civilization, the people of Evos prided themselves on knowledge, accuracy, logic, efficiency, and scientific achievement. For a country full of people with advanced senses to exist would be a great occurrence.
If what Reon said was true, Icarus would have to report this.
