Chapter 87 - I just had to drink it, you know.

What to do with a random chalice standing right at my nightstand in my old home. Speaking of old home, didn't I receive a villa in Norway as a reward from the gacha some time ago? Did I ever claim it, because I can't remember.

Anyway, random chalice, what to do? I guess I will have a look at it first.

So as I stepped closer, reaching out my hand to lift it, I realize that it was filled with some type of blue drink...

Well, that might have been stupid. I just drank the whole thing. Tasted like strawberry and something else....Wait, was there vodka inside? Strawberry doesn't usually come this spicy....Shit. Mom will probably kill me.

11 year old killed for drinking from a spiked chalice gifted to him by the goddesses of fate. Yeah, that sounds like tomorrow's headline.

Wait, why is everything going dark? The fuc...

And with that I fell asleep.

When I finally woke up, I felt only slightly different. Even as the systems restrictions, those that separated me from my actual power were still active, I began to feel ....more. There was a little note laying on the nightstand where the chalice still stood.

"By the way, congratulations on getting officially adopted. You now have even more parents than before:3. The chalice will refill itself with your favorite drink. It has some more functions. We believe you can figure them out yourself.'

The Fates.

Well, that's....not good. I haven't even told my mother about them and now there are even more? Worse of all, I don't even know who....

"So when were you going to tell me?" she asked me as soon as I entered the kitchen. Surprisingly she wasn't alone as Medusa was sitting right across form her, looking right at me with a slight frown.

"Uhm....well, so. How am I even supposed to start with this?"

"How about from the beginning, I heard it tends to help." said Medusa. Well, she was right with that.

----

"So they just came into your dorm-room, even before Grover appeared, and essentially told you you were a threat to the future and instead of simply watching you, they instead chose to adopt you?"

"Yeah, kind off. I mean, I would have asked you if you were fine with it, but there wasn't really time?"

"Honey, I think your misunderstanding something. I'm not mad at you. Frankly I would never. The gods know how much I would have loved a strong support-system growing up. I am mostly mad about them not telling me and then getting you adopted by even more people and not even bothering to tell you or me who those people are..." Here I just had to interject.

"Well, I believe I know at least three if not five of the gods and goddesses that adopted me." Sure, I wasn't actually certain, but there was a certain feeling of assuredness when I thought about them.

"Well,..." Medusa said, "out with it. Who do you think adopted you?" Her eyes gleamed with curiosity, one almost mirrored by my mother.

"Well, I am at the very least sure about being adopted by both Hades and Amphitrite...." suddenly Mom interjected. "So my Exes Wife decided to adopt you? And she didn't even ask me?" she sounded slightly upset. However, suddenly a letter was thrown at the table from outside. I went "Thanks Hermes." on instinct since we were currently on the third floor and only had one open window. I was proven right when a slight hissing echoed from the streets outside. "Damn Herm, that was a good throw. Wanna bet that you could contend with Apollo?" "Shut up George, we don't want Apollo trying to deliver mail. Remember how that turned out in 136 B.C.? He nearly destroyed down an entire village because he threw that slave to fast."

I wisely chose to ignore it. Both the fact that back than Apollo apparently threw a human, not to mention as slave at a village, but also the part about destroying said village doing it. Meanwhile, Mom and Medusa had opened the letter since it was addressed to both of them. Suddenly Mom looked up and at Medusa. "Does that fit your schedule?" she suddenly asked. "Yeah. How about yours?" she asked back. "Definitely. Then I guess we have a new hobby to pick up."

What just happened? Never mind. The Strings of fate around Mom and Medusa suddenly fluctuated and showed me both of them with a third woman at a shooting-range, putting more holes in a sheet of paper than a piece of swish-cheese was allowed to have. And was that a shotgun!? Well, now I know what to gift my mother at her birthday.

After a moment of silence, Mom wanted me to list the other would-be parents. Instead, Medusa and I tag-teamed her into figuring out which collage she would attend to get her degree. Her future with Paul Blofis? Almost entirely assured. It was almost a canon event and the fates seemed rather interested in making it happen considering the amount of different future scenarios I am seeing right now.

We decided on one relatively close to our home. Then it was time I spoke with Mom about my plans to visit and help Charlie with her Hotel. Mom reacted well to my news about making a new friend, one planning to build a hotel and all, however her reaction when I told her where I would be and who exactly Charlie was, would forever be burned into my mind. Considering how pale and utterly surprised she seemed and maybe the slight muttering about "Going to Hell" because of the stuff she did and thought, I had to guess that she didn't know exactly where she would go once she died. I had to rectify it. "Mom, you're not going to hell. Not ever. At least not since you and dad happened. That pretty much ensured you a place in the Underworld. And no. It is very unlikely I will end up down there either, only if something highly improbable were to happen."

"But still, Percy. Why and how did you befriend a literal demon? I thought the greeks didn't have any interaction with other pantheons? At least that's what your father once told me."

"Well, that would have been right, if I hadn't found out about some group of people selling Demigods and Mortals like livestock. After that I decided to rescue those I could, which lead me to hell. I essentially caught Lucifers attention once I channeled one of my domains and the rest is history. I've been in contact with Charlie for almost a year now. And I did promise her to visit for some time after summer, sooo.... . Can I go?"

"Will you be able to attend school while you're down there?"

"Maybe? I mean I know of a few ways to leave and travel between Hell and here, I even know of a few teachers being in Hell. Most of them are harmless. What do you think?"

"Percy, I love you but you need to understand that Hell isn't really the place I want you to go to school at. Not considering the type of people those teachers must have been."

"Mom. Most of the people down there didn't do anything worse than we did. One of the teachers I mentioned did kill her husband, in front of her elementary students at that, though mostly because there was a videocall involved. The husband was cheating on her by the way.... What I want to get to is that most people down there might actually be good teachers. Some less than others but I am more than capable of determining who is actually a good teacher and one that deserves to be there."

"Still Percy."

"Okay, how about this. I have an ability to send a sort of copy of myself to school here. Everything it learns will be transferred over to me, even the proficiency. And while I am down there in hell, I will only stay around people I know I can trust..."

"Percy... Why do you want to go so badly? It's literal Hell you are talking about. There can't be anything you actually want to see, right? Or is Gabe going to be there?"

"Gabe? Oh no. He is definitely in the Underworld. Mostly because he was killed by Medusa and me." "So why else do you want to be down there?"

Well, guess I better tell her about my rather demonic features. She already knows about my monstrous ones, so why not those as well.

"Mostly because I may or may not be partially a demon? And maybe I want to learn what my demonic-magic can do? Hell is the best place to learn after all. Being the home of demons...:"

"And since when have you been a demon, Percy?"

"Don't even say anything like "For a while",Percy. That's not an answer." added Medusa, who I hadn't realized was still listening in.

"Well....Uhm...So around Halloween last year? Yeah, that sounds right. It happened right after I rescued those demigods for Hell."

"Anything else you want to tell me, Percy. Before I have to find out like this again?" sighed Mom.

"Uhm. I am also a variant form of elves, like those form Lord of the rings? A type of Egyptian-Demigod and then some more?"

"Okay and what would be that "some more" you just said?"

I sighed at that. I knew Mom didn't want to need to know such things but I also understood why she was asking. She just learned that not only was I no-longer just her son, but also the child to several other gods and goddesses. She also just learned that I am a demon, even if just partially and now even more different creatures.

"So, did I ever tell you about those nightmares I suffer from, Mom?"
