Kael sang loudly as he stood on Lavinia's side, holding her hand.
"Never let the fire die~~"
Lavinia completed the lyrics as she danced with him in perfect rhythm.
One stomp, two stomps, turn. One stomp, two stomps, clap. The movements that had been stiff and awkward earlier now flowed easily, their boots hitting the stone in sync with the rest of the Velmourns.
They had blended in quite well; they were even singing the lyrics together with the rest. It looked like they had been with the group for years.
The rest of the Velmourns didn't seem uncomfortable around Lavinia either. Everything seemed perfect.
"If we fall, if we break—"
Kael raised his voice, his deep, steady tone making it clear that he had never sung this before, but he had already learned the pattern.
"Let the mountain hear our cry~"
Lavinia's voice, on the other hand, was much softer as she followed each verse without missing a beat.
