"Stop running away and face me!!"
Kayden shouted as he glared at Kael, and Kael laughed,
"Try again, I promise I wouldn't run away this time."
"Aaagggghhh!!"
Kayden didn't hold back. He completely ignored the fact that he was completely following Kael's rhythm. For him, the duel was no longer about technique or mid-battle psychology; he simply wanted to hit Kael.
And he did.
He appeared right next to Kael and unleashed a fearsome punch right at his face.
BOOM
A huge bang was heard as the punch connected.
"…huh?"
Kayden, however, noticed something odd.
He should have hit Kael. He should have been sent flying, so… why does it feel like he had hit an absurdly strong wall instead?
He frowned.
He glanced at Kael, and as he focused in, he realized that his punch hadn't actually touched Kael's face. It had stopped about 2 cm away from his face.
An almost transparent barrier had blocked his full-power punch completely, and Kael…
He whistled.
"Whew~
That was close."
