Chapter 642 - Chapter 642: Ino vs. Obito

Obito lay face-up, and before he could fully stand, he brandished the shakujo staff in his hand, firing a volley of highly compressed chakra spheres at the sky.

An ethereal staircase seemed to appear beneath Ino's feet, reaching down to the ground. She descended leisurely from the sky, her pace unhurried. With flicks and thrusts of the Rainbow Light Fishing Rod in her hand, her speed never waned, and finally, the fishing rod lanced like a spear toward Obito's left eye.

Obito's figure blurred—three on the left, two on the right. Ino's rod thrust to the left and missed, and in an instant, four Obitos closed in to attack, surrounding her.

A smile had just begun to form on Obito's lips when the fishing rod swept horizontally, powerfully smacking him across the face. The hook tore a large, multicolored mass of chakra from his body.

The wound healed quickly under the power of the Ten-Tails' chakra, but being slapped so forcefully in the face made Obito's rage skyrocket.

Ino glanced at the Ten-Tails chakra on the fishhook and, without a word, tossed it into her fishing creel for storage.

"How laughably stupid. A clone technique? You took the Clone Jutsu they teach at the Ninja Academy, slapped together a few shoddy modifications, and thought you could use it against me? Are you out of your mind?"

By enraging him, Ino finally managed to see through some of the thoughts beneath Obito's crazed exterior. The ocular power in her eyes materialized before he could act.

"Rinnegan: Pressure!"

She used her newly acquired Rinnegan ability. A formless, intangible energy compressed the air, like a sharp blade slicing through the dim world. A dazzling white line hung high in the heavens, splitting the sky in two. Obito, bearing the brunt of it, felt as if he'd been struck by lightning. A crushing weight seemed to press down on his entire body, leaving him mentally exhausted. The Kamui power that had just been gathering in his left eye was interrupted.

Though there was nothing physically on him, he felt as if he were in the deepest pits of hell. His spirit was under immense pressure, and his body involuntarily went limp.

"Hold on, I'll help you," the Ten-Tails' voice echoed in his mind. This time, the Ten-Tails actively helped shoulder the "Pressure," and Obito felt the weight on his body lighten.

Ino also noticed that the ocular power of her Pressure was being diverted by something—something with power far exceeding that of a three-magatama Rinnegan.

"Bastard! Die!" A crimson light shot from Obito's left eye. A distorted spatial ripple instantly appeared to Ino's left. Faced with the strange power of Kamui, Ino had no choice but to cease her Pressure technique. With a shift of her shoulders, a golden arm of a Susanoo manifested behind her to block Kamui's forced teleportation.

The Susanoo's arm was torn apart, and Ino used the recoil to create distance.

"Is that all you've got? Honestly, fighting you is tedious. I can't even learn any new tricks."

Through a series of probes, Ino had gauged Obito's current power level.

She had already won this fight.

A third of a second later, she appeared behind Obito again. Before his Truth-Seeking Orbs could mount a defense, she swung the Rainbow Light Fishing Rod, brutally tearing a chunk of flesh and chakra from his back.

Obito flung his hand out, using the Uchiha clan's throwing technique to hurl six black rods wreathed in red flames in all directions. As he formed a hand seal, a hexagonal barrier engulfed in crimson fire erupted from the ground.

"Six Red Yang Formation!"

Ino had accused him of "slacking off" for over a decade, but she had truly wronged him.

The "Six Red Yang Formation" was the ultimate technique he had painstakingly researched over so many years, originally intended as a trump card against Uchiha Madara.

Now, he was using it to trap Ino.

"And here I was wondering what it could be. Isn't this just an enhanced version of the Four Red Yang Formation? A petty trick!" Ino reached out and grabbed at the empty air.

"Universal Pull!"

The hastily erected hexagonal barrier was unstable. The wall of rising crimson flames was pulled by the gravitational force, involuntarily showing a slight distortion.

Ino blew a cloud of icy mist toward it. The weak point was shattered by the frost, and with that one breach, the entire barrier collapsed.

Obito had poured a considerable amount of chakra into maintaining the barrier. When it broke, his body froze for a second.

That second was crucial.

With a thunderous "BOOM," Ino kicked him in the chest. Even though Obito had managed to form a Truth-Seeking Orb into a shield at the last moment to absorb some of the impact, the remaining force still sent him flying over a hundred meters, splashing into the sea with a "plunk."

Ino, who had already placed a Flying Thunder God seal on him, appeared a step ahead. As if predicting the future, her fist, glowing with an azure light created from the fusion of Yin-Yang Release, smashed into Obito's spine. The unlucky bastard was knocked out of the water once more.

The injury caused by Yin-Yang Release was extremely severe. Even as the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki, his spine was on the verge of giving out, and more than half the bones in his body were shattered.

Emerging from the water, Obito let out a furious roar. A vast amount of chakra was mobilized, his voice as heavy as muffled thunder. Four massive Tailed Beast Bombs materialized in front of him, locked onto four corners, and smashed down toward the sea.

Three towering columns of water erupted, indicating that the attacks had missed. Besides creating a massive spray, they had no effect. He looked toward the fourth attack point.

Ino used Haku's Ice Release: Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals, turning parts of the sea into hundreds of ice mirrors. She leaped between them to dodge the Tailed Beast Bombs, but the final one had locked onto her from all directions, making it genuinely difficult to evade.

"A fool who has power but no idea how to use it." She raised her hand, and a water clone formed in the style of the Steam Imp Explosion. The chubby water clone hurtled toward the Tailed Beast Bomb. Just before impact, the clone made a nimble turn in mid-air. The Tailed Beast Bomb, locked onto the water clone's chakra, veered east.

The water clone, trailing billowing steam, carved an arc a second later, turning southeast and flying straight at Obito.

"What the hell is that?" Obito molded a Truth-Seeking Orb into a massive, double-helix-shaped sword over ten meters long. Quick as lightning, he pierced the chubby water clone with it. A huge explosion sent scalding steam billowing everywhere. Before he could even see what had happened, the Tailed Beast Bomb that had been chasing the 'chubby Ino' was right in front of him.

Could he withstand his own Tailed Beast Bomb? The reality was, he couldn't.

With another thunderous "BOOM," Obito failed to dodge in time and could only manage to block with the giant sword in his hand.

Who knows if it was a lack of control or just pure chunibyo, but a man of 1.8 meters wielding a giant sword over ten meters long? Was he insane?

The Tailed Beast Bomb shattered the ridiculously chunibyo double-helix sword in his hands, taking his right arm and a good part of his shoulder with it.

"Die!" Ino shouted, flipping her wrist to draw the Seven Star Sword and slashing at Obito's neck.

Obito gritted his teeth. With no time to wonder why he had been grievously wounded by his own Tailed Beast Bomb, he swung his left hand, and the last two Truth-Seeking Orbs behind him coalesced into a semicircular shield. It protected most of his body, barely managing to block the fatal strike from the Treasured Tool of the Sage of Six Paths.
