Chapter 635: Stealing the Eye
The roots of the God Tree grew continuously beneath the ground. It needed more chakra. All the chakra on this planet was nourishment for it to birth the Chakra Fruit. It had previously been manually separated by the Sage of Six Paths through the ways of Ninshu, and now, it wanted to take it all back.
The Third Tsuchikage had placed the Seven-Tails Jinchuriki, Fuu, thirty li underground from Iwagakure for protection. He had even dispatched his son and 1,500 Iwa elites to guard her. He believed this distance was safe enough, but he didn't realize that for the God Tree, such a distance was nothing.
The God Tree needed more chakra. Its roots spread north, entering Iwagakure. A large number of Iwa ninja were entangled by vines bursting from the ground before they even understood what was happening, their chakra and life force subsequently drained dry.

Digging out Ino's Rinnegan was one option. Retrieving his own left eye, lost to Obito, was another.

"Die!" Sasuke used a Chidori, piercing the chest of the ninja monk Sora.
This fifteen-year-old monk had been affected by the dark chakra leaking from the Box of Ultimate Bliss, turning him into an extremely bloated monster. The Nine-Tails chakra within him had also mutated. It took Sasuke some effort to defeat this guy.
In the final moments of his life, Sora's eyes were still filled with venomous hatred, as if trying to permanently etch Sasuke's appearance into his memory.
In the original timeline, Sasuke didn't kill people when he was with Orochimaru. Back then, he seemed to be holding onto his bottom line. The real killing spree began when he acquired the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. At that time, he attacked everyone he saw, acting recklessly. He had clearly gone mad.

Sasuke struggled but found he couldn't break free. He quickly poured chakra into the Flame Gunbai. The fan's edge, sharp as a blade, sliced straight toward Madara Uchiha's neck.
"Such crude usage," Madara commented. He yanked his arm, tossing Sasuke into the sky, while his other hand reached out, intending to snatch the fan. But Sasuke was no weakling. While airborne, he formed seals with one hand—six seals in one second—and immediately released a jutsu.
"Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique!" This B-rank ninjutsu formed a fire dragon, which he spat from his mouth, seemingly intending to burn Madara Uchiha to ash.
Madara was now the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails. He could only be harmed by taijutsu and senjutsu. He was immune to all other ninjutsu, whether B-rank or A-rank.
He glanced at Sasuke during the fight. The stubbornness and tenacity in this young man greatly resembled his own.
The opponent's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan also brought back some old memories.
His original intention to tank the hit and mock his opponent faded.
His Rinnegan emitted an esoteric light. He raised his right hand, and the Great Dragon Fire Technique was converted into pure chakra by the Rinnegan and absorbed completely.

A Wood Clone?
Sensing a gust of wind rushing toward his face, he was alarmed. He withdrew his hand, tapped his toes, shifted his center of gravity back, and rapidly fell backward.
"Your combat timing is excellent, but that is not your own eye, after all." Madara Uchiha's voice sounded from behind and to his left. Kakashi quickly turned his head, only to feel a sharp pain in his eye. The crimson vision of the Sharingan suddenly vanished. Two cold fingers stabbed into his eye socket and forcibly gouged out the eyeball.
