Chapter 430: The Water Mirror Technique
When Sasuke fought Naruto, he was overbearing. This was most obvious the first time he met Naruto in Shippuden, almost instantly defeating the Naruto who had been trained by Jiraiya for three years.
But once he faced an enemy stronger than him, for example, Killer B, he would lose his calm mind in a very short time.
You still need a brain when fighting as a ninja. Even Hashirama and Naruto, who were not very intelligent, had keen combat instincts.
Were there any who fought with their eyes closed, blindly swinging? At least, Ino had never seen one.
In short, Sasuke was a small-time bully. When facing people he could beat, he would be very happy during the fight, enjoying the process, with a calm mind, planning ten steps ahead, fully displaying the demeanor of a master. When fighting strong opponents, he was very easy to get worked up.
"I haven't lost yet!" Sasuke drew his sword with one hand and formed a hand seal with the other. "Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
Ino's hand seal speed was a notch faster than his. It was also a one-handed seal ninjutsu. "Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
Sasuke had fought on the battlefield for half a year, and so had she. Sasuke had only fought against Kurotsuchi and Akatsuchi. The opponents she had faced were the Fourth Raikage and the Fifth Mizukage; the level of the enemies was different.
The improvement on the battlefield was the fastest.
Ino's Water and Earth Release were now lv5, Wind and Fire were lv4, and Lightning was lv3. Her Great Fireball Jutsu, despite being cast later, suppressed Sasuke's Great Fireball.
Then they each formed hand seals. Ino's Dragon Fire Technique suppressed Sasuke's Phoenix Sage Fire. With both moves at a disadvantage, when Ino formed hand seals with both hands and used the "Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique" she had learned from Shisui, Sasuke was completely no match. He was forced back by the scorching fire dragon, looking quite pathetic.
"Damn it! This is an Uchiha clan ninjutsu!" Sasuke was furious. He had copied the Great Dragon Fire jutsu with his Sharingan, but his own Fire Release skill was a bit lacking, and he couldn't use it in a hurry.
Realizing that his Fire Release was no match, he immediately switched to his most proficient Lightning Release. Electricity re-condensed in his hand, and he circled to the side, charging over with lightning speed.
Kurotsuchi had been defeated by his Chidori. No matter how confident Ino was, she wouldn't try to fight Sasuke head-on with Lightning Release.
Seeing the direction Sasuke was charging from, she quickly formed hand seals. With an upward flick of her right hand, a transparent water curtain appeared out of thin air. The chakra in the water curtain simulated and transformed, and soon, a completely identical Sasuke walked out of it.
"Water Release: Water Mirror Technique!" This famous ninjutsu of the Fourth Mizukage had disappeared from the ninja world for many years. Never mind seeing it, Sasuke had never even heard of it.
He was still gritting his teeth and charging forward. Suddenly, he saw another himself appear in the water curtain. That Sasuke was also holding lightning and had the exact same movements as him. The two, without any fancy moves, just slammed their Chidoris into each other.
With a loud "BOOM," lightning flashed and thunder roared. The familiar Lightning Release chakra dispelled Sasuke's illusion. It wasn't a genjutsu; it was himself, but a copied version of himself.
"Is this a ninjutsu?" Sasuke was stunned. The Sasuke that had just walked out of the water mirror was completely identical to him, and even used the Chidori perfectly. Was this really a ninjutsu, and not a Kekkei Genkai?
The Water Mirror Technique was indeed just a ninjutsu. The copied Sasuke disappeared after one Chidori.
Sasuke's three-tomoe Sharingan continuously poured knowledge into his brain—the hand seals and chakra flow sequence of the previous Water Mirror Technique. He frowned tightly. Just copying it was useless; he didn't have Water Release chakra at all.
"Copying my ninjutsu again?" Ino saw through Sasuke's little thoughts very clearly.
She received the residual information left by the water clone after using Chidori. The Fourth Mizukage's ninjutsu was truly heaven-defying, almost mimicking most of the Sharingan's functions.
Ino closed her eyes slightly, savoring the information transmitted back from the water mirror. It wasn't everything, but it was about fifty or sixty percent. When she opened her eyes again, more than a dozen eerie blue electric sparks that pierced the air had already appeared in her right hand.
I haven't even copied your ninjutsu, and you've already copied my Chidori?! Sasuke really felt disgusted.
Ino's Lightning Release was very average. In her opinion, the Chidori was not perfect. With a flick of her wrist, she dispelled the lightning-attribute chakra gathered in her palm.
"What was that jutsu of yours?" Sasuke asked.
"Water Release: Water Mirror Technique."
"Not a Kekkei Genkai ninjutsu?"
"No."
Sasuke snorted softly. You're so good at Water Release, why are you a Konoha ninja? If you have the guts, go be the Mizukage!
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. With this Water Mirror Technique, he didn't want his ninjutsu to be copied by Ino. He turned and walked away.
Sakura quickly followed.
Ino glanced at the defeated Naruto. This guy had been a loser for so many years; he didn't need encouragement, and there was no problem of him defecting or anything. He would recover after one night. She also turned and left.
The next morning.
During breakfast, seeing the large house the priestess lived in, Sakura was inspired and began to mutter to Ino about the house her family currently lived in.
The Yamanaka family lived in a two-story building to keep a low profile. The first floor was a flower shop, and the second floor was their living quarters. In reality, their family was extremely wealthy...
Sakura's family was truly poor. Her father worked three jobs, and her initial motivation to become a ninja was because the mission rewards were high, and she could earn money to support her family.
Ino looked down on Sakura's skills, but in reality, Sakura's strength was very strong at the chunin level. Her mission completion rate was very high, and she had recently saved up a lot of money.
Originally, Sakura had felt that "the good days are still ahead," but Shion's plain words had shattered her dream.
Do I really have to work for a mortgage my whole life?
She was particularly conflicted the entire morning.
If it were any other day, Naruto would definitely use his clumsy flirting skills to hit on Sakura. Today, he was in no mood. His defeat last night, plus knowing that he would die, had left him in a trance. His eyes were dull, and he was completely listless.
The attendant with the convenient square glasses, Taruho, became even more dissatisfied with the Konoha ninja's mental state. When Naruto muttered for the third time that he was going to die, he was about to stand up and scold him, but Shion stopped her attendant and looked at Naruto.
She stated it as if it were a common matter. "Whether you are willing or not, no matter how much you worry, you will eventually die. If you are worried about your life, you can leave... As long as you leave my side, you will be safe."
Naruto would definitely not retreat in the face of battle. He rambled on about his ninja way, and then stuffed two steel plates in his chest and back! He tied them up front and back, wearing them like armor.
You said I would be pierced through the heart and die? I'm not afraid of that now!'
