Among the many horrors of the deep sea, the Black Kraken is spoken of with the greatest fear. Sailors call it the tyrant of the seas, a creature so vast and relentless that even seasoned captains whisper its name like a curse.
It's at the top of the kraken kind, stronger, more cunning, and more merciless than its red or gray kin. While most krakens strike with blind hunger, the Black Kraken hunts with intent, almost as if it takes pleasure in dragging ships and the souls upon them into the abyss.
Unlike their red or gray kin, the Black Krakens aren't seen often upon the seas. This isn't because they are rare, but because they're wise. Where the others lash out in frenzy, thrashing at every ship that crosses their path, the black waits. It's patient, deliberate, and cruelly intelligent.
