After that, the days became a blur of everyday duties, the kind of regular activities that might feel never-ending when managing a big estate. Much of the time is spent overseeing the new workers, teaching them what's expected and where they are allowed to go.
Not every corner of the property is open to them, after all. The main estate remained private, as did the winery and the secluded hot spring; only the worker in the estate could move around that. But they can roam and work almost anywhere else, learning the land's rhythms and the estate' routines.
There are small perks for them as well, which helped keep spirits high. The newly opened tavern near the hot spring, for instance, welcomed them with an employee discount. That tavern had quickly become a favorite spot, not only for staff but also for visitors from the outside, since the public could enter through the South Gate near the inn that stood just beyond the estate walls.
