??? POV
I walked back from school, not stopping to watch the insects, not dawdling at all.
Instead, I asked myself when I could help the Mister again, when I could have dinner as a reward again, and most of all, I tried to sort out which questions to ask next time.
When I arrived at the gate, at the steps leading to the iron door, I stopped.
Tilting my head, I listened in; it was silent, the others hadn't come yet.
I looked at the doorknob, then stepped back down the steps.
I looked in the direction of the pond, hesitated, but waited where I was.
When the others finally came, I chose to go to the end of the group, like always.
Grabbing the straps of my schoolbag, I waited until it was my turn to cross the stairs, enter the house, and stand in a row by the staircase, like always.
When I finally saw him, my eyes lit up.
"Good afternoon, Mister!" we said in chorus, while the Mister lounged on the couch.
