Tyler hadn't been having a good time lately. It wasn't long ago that he got into a fight with Caroline because the shallow bitch couldn't stop fawning over his evil nemesis, and more recently, he got into a fight with Hayley because she wanted to run now that there was nothing left for her here; only he couldn't run because his mother was still here.
"I'm back! I couldn't find the cookies you wanted, but I'm sure you'll like these," said Tyler, walking in and going through the groceries without looking up.
"Welcome back," said Klaus.
Tyler's head shot up, dropping the groceries as he saw his mom's arms trapped between two men.
"Tyler!" exclaimed his mother as he inched closer, only to come to an abrupt halt as the man put a knife to her throat.
Klaus smirked, "Careful now, wouldn't want my man's hand to get itchy now, would we?"
"What is this?" asked Tyler angrily.
"I think you know what this is, but I'll enlighten you. When I woke up this morning, I found Hayley gone, nowhere to be found, and no way to be reached, like she was never sired at all. Then it got me thinking how you two were the only ones to disobey me and live while the rest died. Regardless of your ridiculous reason, it became clear you've been freed," said Klaus dramatically.
"Haven't you!" yelled Klaus madly.
Tyler cursed inwardly at the bitch, and his lousy luck with women. "It's true, but I'm still doing what you want, aren't I?"
Klaus grinned. "You are, aren't you? If only you didn't lie about it, we might not be having this conversation. Makes one wonder why you would lie, though, doesn't it?"
Tyler's eyes flicker towards his mother.
"Ah, yes, perhaps I know," said Klaus, walking over to his mother, combing her hair affectionately as she tried to avoid it, shuddering at his touch.
"Don't you touch her!" shouted Tyler furiously.
"If you wish your mother to survive the day, you'll do as I say," said Klaus crossly.
"What do you want?" asked Tyler heatedly.
"Are you on vervain?" asked Klaus.
Tyler's jaw clenched, but he answered, for what choice did he have? "No."
"Then it's simple really, you let me compel you of your own free will, and I won't kill your mother," said Klaus.
"Tyler! No!" cried his mother, as Klaus gave her a glare of promised death should she interfere.
Tyler scowled.
"Know that, either way, I will get what I want. The question is, will your mother still be alive afterward?" Klaus reasoned.
"...Fine, but you better leave my mother alone after this, or so help me, I'll find a way," said Tyler evenly.
Klaus grinned. "I'm a man of my word; no further harm shall come to your mother from me," he said, closing the gap.
Tyler's fists clenched as he unknowingly held his breath.
"From now on, you'll do as I say and you'll be mine to the end of time, unable to go against me, and always be at my beck and call, my slave," Klaus compelled.
Stepping back, Klaus grinned, "Let's test it. Bite off your finger… Wait, too easy. Chew through your arm."
Moving his finger to his mouth, Tyler stopped and went for his forearm, sinking his teeth in and began chewing.
"Tyler!" cried his mother in despair, seeing her child reduced to a pitiful slave.
"That's enough. You can stop now and take some time to say goodbye to your mother. Release her," ordered Klaus, satisfied.
Not completely devoid of autonomy outside his orders, Tyler sped over and tore apart the two men who released his mother.
Klaus smirked, "Best get it out of your system now. I won't be making that mistake again, though you should know you just tore apart two innocent compelled men I found."
Tyler snorted as he held his bawling mother.
"When you're done, come find me outside. We have work to do. Oh, and don't take long," ordered Klaus, exiting the house.
Finished saying goodbye, Tyler stepped out and got into the prepared car.
Klaus quickly reached over and grabbed his face, adding another order: "From now on, you'll forever work towards my best interest. " Flinging his face away when he was done.
"Now, tell me how you broke my sire bond," Klaus ordered, indicating for the compelled driver to take off.
"Caroline's father helped me. He figured that I became sired because you took away the pain of my transformation when you turned me into a hybrid, putting me in your debt, so to speak. By repeatedly shifting, I broke my reliance on you," answered Tyler.
"Caroline's father, huh? And where is he now?" asked Klaus, not recalling the man.
"Dead, he was stabbed and didn't wish to be healed by vampire blood," said Tyler.
"Hmm, nothing but a fool then in the end. Speaking of Caroline, are you still a thing? Because we won't be coming back for a while. Do you wish to call her and say goodbye?" asked Klaus, thinking more of her than of him.
"Not necessary," said Tyler, looking out the window to avoid seeing his grin.
"Where are we going anyway?" asked Tyler.
"After we pick up Kol, we're going to New Orleans. Elijah's already there tracking down Hayley for me. Seems she forgot that I'm the one who told her where she came from," said Klaus.
"Why do you need her? Can't you just let her go since you have me?" asked Tyler, not wishing this fate on anyone.
"And allow another hybrid to wander around without supervision, I think not. I made her what she is; it's only right she listens to what I say," said Klaus.
Tyler snorted at how he acted as if it were some gift he bestowed upon them when it was forced.
"Why are we going, then? Can't Elijah get her and bring her back?" asked Tyler.
"Because Hayley is from a family of werewolves, which means her pack is there, and as you can see, I'm a bit low on hybrids. It's time to stock up," said Klaus.
"But I thought Elena was dead and your stored blood destroyed," said Tyler, confused.
"Yes, that was unfortunate. Luckily, I have two successful hybrids that I can use. I'm betting you can turn them for me," said Klaus eagerly.
