Chapter 12 - Unplanned

Arriving at the mansion, Kol finds his other siblings waiting for him.

"Where have you been?" asked Klaus suspiciously.

"Around, you know some of us have lives outside this family," Kol quipped.

"And what kind of life could you possibly have after just waking up?" asked Klaus.

Rebekah scoffed, "Probably the usual mayhem and revelry, what else? I thought we were here for Finn and Mother?"

Kol grinned, "See, Rebekah gets it."

"Careful brother, one would think you're up to something," said Klaus dangerously.

Feeling a spike of fear, Kol deflected, "Ah, yes, the classic Klaus paranoia. When will you get new material?"

"When I'm no longer right," answered Klaus.

"As much fun as this is, I'm with Rebekah, were we not brought here because you found Finn and Mother?" asked Elijah.

Klaus smirked, "And they say I'm impatient. I found them. After Rebekah finally saw fit to tell me about Sage, I used my vast connections and located her. Whether Mother is there or not, we won't know until we get there, but Finn will most certainly be, and if we have to beat the information out of him, all the better."

.

At the top-floor apartment suite, Sage was getting dressed. "I'm going to meet Troy and discuss bringing in others we can trust. They could help."

"Hm," Finn hummed disinterested, staring out the window.

"Do you want to come and meet him?" asked Sage.

"Not tonight, I have other plans," said Finn.

"What plans? Never mind, I don't want to know," said Sage, thinking of the slaughterhouse.

Finn grinned, walking up and taking her into his arms, "Goodbye my love, until next we meet," giving a loving kiss before departing.

She would have called him out for being so corny if she didn't love it so damn much, being left there with a stupid grin on her face.

.

Taking a few blood bags with him, he hopped into his car and headed towards the warehouse.

Turning onto the remote drive, he saw a U-Haul truck blocking the road ahead.

Frowning, he puts the car in park and steps out. About halfway towards it, he's suddenly attacked by two blurred forms.

A quick scuffle later, he throws them off, staring at his two would-be attackers.

"Elijah, Kol," Finn greeted them dubiously.

And then the bastard himself stepped out from the shadows of the truck and took his place before them.

"How'd you find me?" asked Finn sullenly, caught completely unaware.

Klaus grinned, "Rebekah hadn't seen Sage in a while, and I knew she'd be with you."

Finn didn't understand how he could find her, given her amulet of protection.

"You must be wondering how with mother's protection," said Klaus as if reading his mind, "In this day and age, magic isn't everything. You both lack the technological knowledge required to truly hide from me," he boasted, seeing his confusion.

Klaus screwed up last time by not thinking of it the first time they left before they ditched their phones and cards, probably as some ridiculous form of symbolism to distance themselves from them, not believing for a second they knew anything important about technology. He wasn't about to make the same mistake twice with Sage, who likely hadn't swapped out any of her possessions yet.

Finn snorted at Klaus's ignorance, always underestimating magic when it didn't suit him. He would just have to find a spell to protect them against technology.

"By the way, the little doppelgangers group told us about your attempted linking with her blood, too bad it failed, for you won't get a second attempt. So do yourself a favor and tell us where Mother is and what you two have been up to," ordered Klaus.

Finn scoffed, "Why should I tell you? You're destined to fall by her hand."

"Then where is the cowardly bitch?! Why does she hide from me?!" yelled Klaus.

"Is there no way to persuade her against this path?" asked Elijah more amicably.

"Why should she?" asked Finn.

"We're her children, are we not? Her family," said Elijah.

"Come off it Elijah. It's clear she resents us for what we've become," said Klaus.

"Indeed," Finn confirmed.

With a disdainful smile, Klaus remarked, "You were always so judgmental," not surprised he took up father's cannibalistic ways.

"I believe your exact words were a judgmental, lovesick fool, and a dullard," said Finn.

Klaus smirked, "Yes, well, was I wrong?"

"Was I?" retorted Finn.

"Enough of this. If she won't come to us, we'll go to her, through you if we must, and this time I'll be sure to drop you in the ocean," said Klaus angrily.

Finn sneered, "None of you have the skills. I can tell from that one exchange alone that they have laughably dulled over the years, and you forget brothers, I was always the best fighter."

"We'll see about that," said Kol, attacking first.

Finn blocks all his strikes and spartan kicks him away with the greatest of ease. Kol was never big on physicality as a child, choosing instead to focus on magic.

Elijah came next, trading a few blows with Finn, who blocked many more before stepping into his guard, grabbing his chin and the back of his head, snapping his neck.

Turning his attention to Klaus and the rising Kol, he prepares for another round.

Klaus's eyes went from Elijah's crumbled form to his, and he raised his hand to stop Kol from rushing back. "Not bad, but there's one thing you forgot."

"That you're a hybrid? How could I when it's all you go on about of late," Finn scorned.

Klaus smirked, "You forgot about the dagger meant for me."

Eyes widening, Finn quickly spins around, the second Rebekah appears in a flash, driving the dagger into his heart.

"Hello Finn, goodbye Finn," Rebekah teased.

"I'm glad that's over, shall I take him to the truck?" asked Kol, his eyes glued to the dagger.

"You and Rebekah can go bring the truck over. I'll take care of this," said Klaus, walking over to Finn's body.

"Fine, come on Kol," said Rebekah.

After they left, Klaus bent over, grabbed one of his legs, and started to drag him towards the truck. "You should have known better than to go against me; I always win, but don't worry, I'll have Mother join you shortly."

All of a sudden, Klaus felt resistance from the leg he was pulling, causing him to stop. Slowly turning around, he was met by another foot straight to the face, breaking his nose temporarily, while Finn got back to his feet, dagger in hand.

"Well, would you look at that. You won't be daggering me anymore bastard," Finn spat defiantly.

"Impossible! How!?" Klaus asks, fear slipping into his voice.

Finn grins, "900 years can do wonders I suppose. Care to try?"

"Give up Finn, this isn't going to go the way you want, miracles notwithstanding," said Klaus.

"Oh, afraid to fight? You always did fear the strong," Finn ridiculed.

"I fear no one! Or did you forget I killed Father!" shouted Klaus angrily.

"You mean like how Damon defeated Kol," quipped Finn

"I'll be putting you back in that box, piece by piece if I have to," Klaus growled, his hybrid face showing. Those black-yellow eyes that promised nothing but pain and death to those who defied him. Attacking at a speed and strength Finn wasn't prepared for.

Instantly put on the back foot, Finn did his best to survive the onslaught.

Capitalizing on his advantage, Klaus caught a missed time strike and bit him.

"There, let that bite teach you a les…" was all he could say before Finn lunged at him in turn, catching him off guard with a bite to his neck while simultaneously stabbing him in the heart with the dagger.

Gripping him by the back of the neck, Finn drank deeply as Klaus struggled to remove him.

"Get Off Me!" shouted Klaus, pushing him away with all his strength.

Stumbling back, Finn laughed mockingly, "Not half bad for a bastard, till next time," and sped away right as Klaus launched another attack, appearing in a burst of speed where he last stood as he disappeared into the horizon. Grinning at the distant angry roar of Niklaus.

He would take great pleasure in tearing the bastard down in the future.
