Lauren leaned toward Aristia as she took her seat in the dining table. Her voice was barely above a whisper as she asked, "How did it go?"
"She accepted," Aristia whispered back, putting the spoon of soup into her mouth.
Lauren smiled. "Of course she would."
Liam nodded in agreement with her words. Why wouldn't Vivian Quentin accept when Aristia had lowered herself to apologize to the daughter of a mere count from minor nobility? That was most unheard of!
Aristia mentally shook her head at their thinking. But it wasn't surprising; even in the modern world, those with higher social standing barely entertained the thought of 'lowering themselves' by relating with those of lower standing, not to talk of apologing and asking for forgiveness. What would she expect from those with even more backward thinking?
The adults looked over curiously, wondering what they were whispering about.
