Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Birth of the Prince

Kenzaki sits high on his brown horse, staring down at the aftermath of chaos beneath him. His long, black hair and beard blowing in the wind, as his emerald eyes are fixated on the once beautiful homes levelled to the ground, soldiers and villagers scattered around like leaves fallen from a tree. Farms and crops were destroyed and The sky was black with smoke and the air smelt of burnt wood. The sound of a horse trotting comes closer. Riding upon it, was a man with dark, blue hair tied neatly in a bun. He wore only the bottom part of his red samurai armour, with a shield placed on his back. His chest was bare and shredded with muscle. A single scar passed over his chest.

"Sire!" A voice calls to him from behind, his blue eyes betraying concern,

"Names… I need names…" Kenzaki demands, his voice shaking slightly, his grip on the reigns tightening, turning his hands white.

The lord sighs, closing his eyes as he does so. He slowly raises his head,

"The Eclisped Blades, sire."

"And the tree?"

"Still standing, my lord. Though it would seem they did try to take it."

"How did they get in? The walls still remain strong." Kenzaki glances around, the 300 metre walls that surround the village cast a shadow over their small figures,

"We are… unsure, my King. It is difficult to say. The survivors said they dived on them like hawks."

"Find them, Thalvar. If they can do this once, they can do it again. We do not rest until their blood stains the ground." Kenzaki said coldly,

"Of course, my King." He bows his head with respect,

"But, we should return to your palace…"

Kenzaki pulls on the reigns, causing the horse to turn around in the other direction,

"Easy, Kaze." He says calmly as he jumps down from his steed.

"Sire?" Thalvars voice falls on deaf ears, Kenzakis only focus being finding those responsible.

He begins searching the ground, kneeling and wiping the dirt for any tracks. Kenzaki slowly steps over the bodies, his mind only focusing on any clue of those responsible. Thalvar raises his eyebrow, his facial expression shifting to confusion,

"Sire… your wife…" Kenzaki immediately stops, his head whipping around to face Thalvar,

"Y-yes?" He says nervously,

"She has conceived a baby boy. She awaits your return." Kenzakis eyes widen, his heart warming at the news,

"Very well. But first, send men here. Tell them to put out the fires… and bury these warriors. Their sacrifice will not go unpunished. Have the survivors of Orionis seek refuge at either Eclipsion or Virelith."

"I already have, my King. Let us return home."

"Very well." Kenzaki states as he climbs back onto his horse, Kaze.

He gently tugs on the reigns to shift his position, facing him in the same direction as Thalvar. They gallop through the now destroyed village towards the wall. Kenzaki sighs.

"Must my son be born on such a day…"

They begin moving towards the giant wall and stop directly in front of it. Kenzaki and Thalvar get off their horses and place them in the stable on the left,

"You look nervous, my Lord. Does a child frighten you?" He jokes,

"Evidently so." Kenzaki responds with a slight chuckle.

Thalvar extends his hand onto the wall, pressing gently against it, his arm growing a bright blue,

"Akeru!" As he utters those words, the ground begins to shake and a beam of light creates an
