Adeline smiled warmly and nodded.
"Sure," she replied.
The two of them spent some time browsing the shop.
Adeline carefully examined several evening gowns, her eyes lighting up with excitement whenever she found a beautiful design.
Luckily for her, many of the dresses were on discount.
She ended up purchasing several elegant oval-cut gowns at a surprisingly low price.
By the time the afternoon sun had begun to soften, she returned to the café.
Alex was already waiting there.
The moment Adeline saw him sitting by the window, she felt her mood lifting .
She walked toward him and asked immediately, "How is Aurora?"
Alex smiled gently. "She's fine."
Adeline looked at Alex carefully, her expression turning slightly puzzled.
Something about him felt different.
Yet at the same time, nothing seemed to have changed.
He looked more mature somehow. There was a new calmness in his posture, and an unfamiliar warmth lingered in his eyes.
