A cold splash suddenly hit his chest.
A glass of iced coffee had spilled directly onto him.
Alex instantly jumped to his feet, the icy liquid soaking through his shirt. The cold sensation sent a sharp chill across his skin.
The waitress standing beside the table looked horrified.
"I'm so sorry, sir! I didn't mean to!"
She kept apologizing repeatedly, her face flushed red with embarrassment.
Adeline quickly grabbed several napkins from the table and began wiping the coffee from Alex's shirt.
"It's alright," she said calmly, waving her hand toward the waitress. "Accidents happen."
Alex nodded as well while dabbing at his shirt. "It's fine. Leave."
The waitress looked slightly relieved, but then she spoke again, her voice a little hesitant.
"If you want… I can pay for the dry cleaning."
She nervously twisted her fingers together. "You could give me your number and I'll contact you later."
For a moment, both Alex and Adeline froze.
