He said those words so close to her ear that Adriana felt the warmth of his breath seep into her skin.
Her cheeks flushed instantly, heat spreading uncontrollably as the reality struck her... she had broken up with Peter, the man she loved.
"We... we have broken up..." She weakly argued.
"Is it even a breakup if the other person doesn't accept it?" Peter blocked her words with ease.
She opened her mouth to argue, to remind him of the message she had sent with trembling fingers, but Peter didn't give her the chance.
He leaned in without warning, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin of her neck before biting down lightly, possessively.
His voice dropped into a hoarse whisper as he muttered,
"Do you have any idea how scared I was when I saw that message that you sent by mistake?"
Adriana's breath hitched.
'No… I didn't send it by mistake.'
Yet before she could deny it, his lips lifted slightly, brushing dangerously close to her ear.
