Prolouge (1)

He had run far and long, tears streaming from his sleep-deprived eyes. He ran until his legs gave out for the 3rd time. He was screaming. "I hate my mom, I hate her so much." He had repeated that sentence for the longest time. Only deep down he had known that wasn't true, he had loved her.

He layed down under a tree, he wasn't ready to go home yet, he wasn't ready to actually see his mom again, or his new 'dad'. Whatever he wanted to be left alone forever. After hours of contemplating he stood up and started walking. He had walked for an hour before reaching the place he wanted to. A store, called Julian's after hour. He walked into the store and gently opened the door, he peeks through the door crack and looks around.

Only the Clark and manager is here, he crawls his way on the ground and the Clark's looks at him weirdly. "Hey kid, what the hell are you doing?" The kid looks up and quickly stands up. "I hurt my leg and I can't walk." The Clark and the kid makes intense eye contact. The kid then looks away and runs to the back of the store. Suddenly another customer enters and talks. "Hello, sir." The kid realized the voice. It was his mom and she sounded scared and depressing. "Sir, have you seen my son, he's 9-10, blonde hair, white, and short for his age." He's regent grew even more.

He was 12, and he was an inch shorter than average height. Then the Clark spoke back. "Yea, actually he was just in the store." The kid peeked through the columns of snacks and sees his mom. His mom then starts looking around. He peeked again and his mom had disappeared, "Hello, baby it's me, your mommy." His eye started twitching, he always hated that baby voice and the sweet talk. He wanted to be treated like an adult and wanted eveyone to call him by his nickname. Ghost, not Nolan, he then took a sharp turn and dashed towards the door. He pushed the door like a madman and dashed for it. Tuning towards the woods and running out on the sidewalk.

He turns to his left to see his 'dad' smoking a cigarette and texting on his phone. His step-dad look at him and started sprinting towards him, Ghost started running towards the crosswalk and starting to run faster than before. All of a second a loud blazing sound came from his right. A truck had come rushing at him, he froze for a second. His memories flashing before his eyes, then black for a minute.

"Hello there Nolan Velion." The brightest light had shined on the consciousness of Ghost, he was in a white room. Nolan was sitting in a chair, in a padded white room with a humanoid figure sitting in a chair. "Who are you?" Ghost yelled worriedly, he rose up from his chair angrily. "I am a man of knowledge, a person of time." The humanoid stayed calm and serious. Ghost sat back down and started staring away. "So Nolan, I'm here to tell you one thing." Nolan started to listen to the thing again. "What is it mister?" Nolan was fully into the conversation and was ready for the answer. "Don't trust anyone except Chris." The humanoid started to get up and walk away. "Wait sir, where are you going." Ghost yelled at the humanoid. "Back to the place I belong." The humanoid looked back and winked at Ghost.

A loud buzzing sound screams in his ear, a white bright light shines in his eyes. Chatter and murmering moves around him. A Silhouette stands over him. Then his eyes start to unblur and clear up. "Oh my god, Nolan your back!" His body starts to ache, he can nearly move and he can't even move fluidly. He uses all his strength to turn his head. His mom sitting on a chair looking at him with a soft gaze. Tears coming from her eyes, she moves up and goes to hug him. She wraps her arms around him. He let out a ear piercing scream, his mom quickly lets go and aploligizes hurriedly. "Where am I." Ghost said with confusion. His mom looks at him with a pitiful mood. "When you where running, from your new dad. A truck came out of nowhere and rammed into you." Her body stiffens and tears started forming in her eyes.

The doctor then speaks up. "Nolan, you have 8 broken bones, a cracked rib cage, and a severe concussion." The doctor continues but Ghost zones out. "What was that thing? Who the hell is Chris?" Ghost had still had that moment stuck in his head. "You need to stay in the hospital for 1 day and you'll be good enough to leave." Ghost just wanted to sleep for the rest of his life and never wake up. He just wanted to be free of everything at that moment, he closed his eyes and started to sleep, but he couldn't the thought of that humanoid figure haunted him. It had two arms but severely damaged and jagged. Its rib cage poking out and skin sticking onto its muscles and bones.

Whatever it was Ghost couldn't sleep, he was too scared and stayed up till 3 AM. He started to try moving but couldn't, he's body ached too much. His mom had fallen asleep and he didn't have the energy to spark up a conversation. He started to wiggle his fingers and shuffle his legs. Overwhelmed by pain he decided to just fall asleep and accept his fate.

He look at the time. 3:36 AM, July 12 2017. He remembered his birthday is on the 15th and he's finally turning into a teenager. He smiled, waiting for his birthday is killing him. He felt like he was ready to be a teenager and was ready for more responsibilities. He tilted his head and looked at his mom, her sleeping in the arms chair, he loved her. He wanted her to have the world. After his dad left at 5, his mom went through a depressive state of eating sleeping and using her phone.
