Chapter 74 - Chamber of the kings

Master.

The voice rang out, urgent and slightly frantic, reaching Sheng Cheon's ears — just a second into his cultivation.

He didn't even flinch. It was as if he already knew he'd be interrupted. With no expression, he stood up silently.

Thinking he hadn't heard her, Freya spoke again, this time more gently,

"Master—"

But before she could finish, Sheng Cheon nodded.

"I know, Freya. It's them."

His thoughts followed right after.

So they've finally arrived… It's funny yet admirable that Leon has built up this much reputation. I expected it from a king of his caliber, but not this fast.

Sheng moved toward the only golden gate of the room, where a knight was waiting outside. The moment he saw Sheng, he dropped to one knee.

"My Majesty, the kings of all kingdoms have arrived — as per your orders."

Sheng nodded, eyes calm.

As his feet moved toward the meeting room, thoughts flickered in his mind —

The kings think this meeting is called by Leon Agniverta… but in truth, it's all under my control. They're being deceived by Sheng Cheon.

He entered the grand chamber with a calm, casual gesture — one that perfectly mirrored the real Leon Agniverta.

Orochi was wrapped around his neck, unseen by anyone as always thanks to her hidden presence.

The kings stood up instantly and bowed.

Even Sheng was slightly surprised — the sheer respect Leon's name held… even Orochi seemed stunned by the weight of his reputation.

Still, Sheng kept his future plans clear in his mind. He raised a hand, gesturing them all to sit.

Seventeen figures were present. The room fell into absolute silence — not a single one dared to speak.

Even the Dragon King, whose kingdom had just gone through a major tragedy, was here — leaving his lands in the hands of others.

Most faces were unfamiliar to Sheng… except one.

There was one man that caught his interest. A face that felt too familiar.

It was the son of that old man — the man whose portrait hung in Sheng's room.

White skin. Sharp green eyes. That same twisted grin. It was like seeing a younger version of Principal Carlas. No… it was almost identical. Like a twin.

Sheng — now Alex — let out a breath in his mind, then calmly took his seat at the head of the table.

"I know most of you are curious," Alex spoke. "I can see it in your eyes. You don't understand why I've gathered you here."

A king in rust-colored pants stood up. He didn't even look like a king — more like a muscle-packed dwarf. His massive brown beard and mustache were so thick they almost hid his eyes.

He bowed.

"Majesty Leon, first of all… I greet you on behalf of all the kings of our kingdoms."

Seeing him, the rest followed his lead and bowed as well.

Except one.

The son of the old man — he didn't bow. Didn't greet. Didn't say a word. Just sat there silently, watching.

Sheng noticed. He was already on guard — he knew he had to be careful. If he wanted his plan to work, he had to act perfectly. No slip-ups.

With calm but firm energy, Alex spoke,

"I accept your greetings."

Then his tone shifted.

"I won't waste your time anymore. Let me tell you why I've invited all of you."

With that, Sheng stood from his seat.
