In the Shinobi World, there are three great sacred places: Mount Myoboku, Shikkotsu Forest, and Ryuchi Cave.
These three places are home to the Toad Sage, the Slug Sage, and the White Snake Sage, respectively.
The original work provides the most detailed depiction of Mount Myoboku and the Toad Sage.
The Toad Sage's real name is Gamamaru.
He lived during the same period as Rikudo Sennin and possessed the ability to foresee the future.
He was the one who discovered the destructive impact of the God Tree on Earth and guided Hagoromo and Hamura to seal their mother.
As for the White Snake Sage of Ryuchi Cave, her true form is a white-scaled serpent that can transform into the appearance of an old woman.
Compared to the Toad Sage, the White Snake Sage is clearly not benevolent.
She sets up trials for those seeking power in Ryuchi Cave, and those who fail become her food.
The White Snake Sage in the Land of Hot Water might also be a serpent from Ryuchi Cave.
Although the Eight-Headed Serpent is one of Orochimaru's forbidden techniques, he shouldn't always maintain that form.
If it's really Orochimaru, why disguise himself under the guise of the White Snake Sage?
Is he recruiting followers? Could it be that he's running out of test subjects?
With Orochimaru's methods, he shouldn't need to go through so much trouble.
The situation in the Land of Hot Water remains full of mysteries, leaving a lingering sense of unease.
A squad of Anbu has been dispatched to continue investigating within the country's borders to see if they can uncover more information.
In the evening, Makoto went to see Kushina.
Having encountered danger outside, Makoto initially intended to comfort this beautiful woman, but unexpectedly found Rin there as well.
He hadn't seen Rin for some time; it was as if she had been avoiding him.
Upon seeing Makoto at the door, Rin also wondered to herself why he had come.
"Lord Hokage." Rin bowed to Makoto.
"Hmm."
"Did Lord Hokage come to see Kushina-nee for something?" Rin asked.
"Not really. I just came to check on her since she encountered danger in the Land of Hot Water," Makoto said.
"Thank you for your concern, Lord Hokage. I'm fine," Kushina said, lowering her head.
"Kushina-nee said she's fine, so please leave," Rin said bluntly, showing no regard for his status as Hokage.
She was always gentle with others, but when it came to him, she became so unreasonable.
Makoto felt helpless and looked at Kushina. "So you're kicking me out, huh, Kushina?"
Hearing that, Kushina tensed up and quickly said, "No, it's just... there's no need to waste your time, Lord Hokage. But if you'd like to come in and sit for a while, that's fine too."
What was the point of just sitting? He couldn't actually do anything.
With Rin there, nothing good could happen.
Feeling a bit frustrated, Makoto said, "Forget it. I just came by to check on you. I'm leaving now."
With that, he turned and walked away.
As Kushina watched him leave, she called out, "Take care, Lord Hokage."
She felt relieved and secretly thought, thankfully Rin was here today, or else...
Rin asked, "Kushina-nee, why did he come to see you?"
Kushina smiled and said, "Didn't the Hokage already say? He was worried I might have been shaken up, so he came to check on me."
Rin muttered, "Since when is that guy so considerate?"
Kushina thought to herself: Of course, he's not that considerate. If you hadn't been here today, I'd have become his plaything again...
But she spoke in Makoto's defense: "He's the Hokage; it's normal for him to care about the villagers. But you, Rin, do you have a grudge against him or something? Why were you so rude?"
Rin was taken aback. "Was I...?"
Was it that obvious?
Kushina chuckled. "Other than you, no one else would dare treat the Hokage like that."
Of course, she hadn't seen how Anko treated Makoto, which was even more over the top than Rin.
Rin fell silent for a moment and said, "It's nothing. It's just... we were close before, so I got a bit casual."
She was explaining to Kushina and also to herself.
Then she stood up and said, "It's getting late. I should go now, Kushina-nee."
She had already intended to leave when she happened to run into Makoto coming over.
"Alright." Kushina didn't insist on keeping her.
As Rin walked out of Kushina's house, her heart was a bit restless.
She hadn't expected to run into Makoto again, which caused her thoughts to wander uncontrollably.
She had been avoiding meeting him, even delegating her visits to the Hokage's office to other team members during missions.
She had hoped that after some time, she'd be able to forget that damned bastard.
Lost in thought, Rin walked absentmindedly, until suddenly her vision blurred, and the sound of wind swept past her ears.
When she snapped back to her senses, she found herself in an empty alleyway.
And the figure pinning her against the wall was the very one who haunted her thoughts.
"Walking without watching where you're going? Were you thinking about me?"
That familiar voice echoed in her ear.
Rin's mind went blank for a moment.
Looking at the familiar face so close to hers, her cheeks instantly flushed bright red.
"You... you..." Rin stuttered, unable to form a complete sentence.
"How long has it been since you've seen me? Even after returning from your mission, you were the only one who didn't report back. And when we finally meet, you have that kind of attitude."
Rin lowered her head, pursing her lips. "Why do I have to see you? Who are you to me anyway..."
Her voice carried stubbornness, but there was a hint of grievance.
What she probably wanted to say was: If I don't go see you, can't you come to me instead?
Makoto chuckled at her words. "Who am I? I'm the Hokage—don't you know that?"
Rin huffed. "Yes, Lord Hokage, so impressive. Does being Hokage mean you can bully people at will?"
Smack!
A muffled sound echoed as Rin's face instantly turned bright red with shame.
She glared angrily at the man before her.
Makoto had slapped her butt.
"You!"
"What? Go ahead, glare at me again!" Makoto raised his hand as if ready to slap her again.
Rin bit her lip, refusing to say another word, her flushed face filled with both grievance and anger.
"Did it hurt?" Makoto asked.
"..." Rin kept silent, her face still red.
How was she supposed to answer that?
The next moment, Makoto reached out and gently rubbed her butt, as if trying to soothe the "pain."
But she wasn't hurt at all — Makoto hadn't used any force.
How painful could a slap on the butt even be?
Rin's mind went blank with a boom.
Realizing what was happening, she quickly dodged to the side, pressing down on Makoto's arm to stop him.
"I'll help you massage it," Makoto shamelessly said.
Rin's face turned so red it looked like blood might drip from it.
She had imagined countless scenarios of meeting Makoto again — perhaps he'd be cold and indifferent, maybe warm and apologetic, or perhaps he'd hold her hand passionately and try to kiss her...
But never did she imagine he'd shamelessly grope her butt and take advantage of her!
Her voice hoarse, she said, "You... you're going too far..."
Makoto, however, spoke righteously: "You deserve it. Who told you to keep avoiding me?"
"I didn't..." Rin wanted to retort, but realizing she was in the wrong, she changed her approach. "If I don't see you, can't you come find me yourself?"
Makoto sighed dramatically. "I'm the Hokage. Do you know how much work I have to deal with every day?"
Rin couldn't find the words to respond, stammering, "I... I..."
Then she looked up and saw that smug, infuriating smile on his face.
What made it worse was when he asked, "Did you miss me?"
Rin turned her face away and sneered, "I'd have to be crazy to miss you. What, miss you enjoying a happy life at home with your wife and kids?"
Makoto lifted her chin. "You could give me a child too, you know."
Rin almost laughed from sheer anger. "In your dreams!"
Makoto nodded seriously. "I do dream about it — often. You giving me several kids."
Rin was so flustered by his shamelessness that her face turned red again.
She quickly tried to shake his hand off.
"You bastard! Pervert! Freak!" she yelled angrily.
After Rin finished cursing, she realized that Makoto was staring at her intently.
The two of them were already very close, and she didn't even know why she hadn't moved away while talking to him.
I hate him so much, so why am I just letting him pin me against the wall like this...
"What are you looking at?" Rin's heart began to race.
"I want to kiss you."
Rin couldn't handle it anymore and lowered her head, intending to escape.
But how could Makoto let her get away?
He gripped her hands and feet even more dominantly, pressing her back firmly against the wall.
Rin struggled, her breathing inexplicably growing rapid.
"Makoto, please let me go."
"I like you a bit. I don't want to let you go."
"But you have a wife— you even have kids!"
"Doesn't matter. I don't mind."
"You..."
"Call me Lord Hokage. Maybe I'll consider it."
"L-Lord Hokage..."
Makoto chuckled, leaning even closer. "You're begging me. Can you sound a little sweeter?"
Rin's face turned even redder, and she realized no matter how she turned her head, she couldn't avoid him.
"Lord Hokage..."
Makoto's lips curved into a smile. "I've decided— I still want to kiss you."
"You bastard! You don't keep your word—mmph!"
Half a minute later.
In the deserted alley, Makoto squatted helplessly on the ground, looking at the girl hugging her knees and crying in front of him.
"We were kissing just fine—why are you crying?"
"You even touched me! You're disgusting! I don't want to talk to you!" Rin said tearfully.
"I couldn't help myself. I was wrong. I won't do it next time."
"Shut up! All you do is bully me! You're the Hokage — you have a family, and you can't even take responsibility for me. What am I supposed to do as a girl?"
"You blame me for not coming to find you, but you're the one at fault! You're just toying with my feelings. Once you've had your way, you'll toss me aside like those bad men in novels!"
She cried and spoke simultaneously.
"You can't give me anything—so why did you come and mess with me?"
"You bastard!"
"Can you just stay away from me? I don't want to see you!"
As she spoke, she raised her fists and hit Makoto.
Makoto caught her wildly swinging hands. "If I stay away from you, won't you miss me?"
Having vented her emotions, Rin began to speak without thinking, "What good is missing you? You're not even mine! There's no way we could be together!"
"I'll marry you."
"..."
Rin gradually quieted down, wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Say that again."
"I'll marry you."
She stared at Makoto intently. "Are you going to divorce your wife?"
Makoto slowly shook his head. "You can also be my wife, just like her. Once you come of age, we'll get married."
Rin: "..."
Makoto continued, "There's no rule that says I can only have one wife."
Rin remained silent for a long time, then let out a low laugh for some reason.
She raised her head, sneering coldly at Makoto. "So there will be other women in the future too, right? You want me to serve you alongside them, is that it?"
Makoto really wanted to nod, but he knew that doing so now would probably earn him a slap.
Without a word, Rin stood up and turned to leave the alley.
"Disgusting!"
