Chapter 179 - Ch 179 : Sharingan of Two People

"What's wrong, Kakashi? You seem distracted."

At the dango shop, Guy, with a half-eaten bamboo skewer in his mouth, glanced at Kakashi beside him.

Kakashi casually responded, "Is it that obvious?"

Guy grinned. "Pretty much written all over your face."

Kakashi's gaze shifted to the street, watching the passersby without saying anything further.

Lately, he had been pondering the matter of the Sharingan — whether he should talk to Obito about returning the eye and whether the Hokage would even approve...

The Sharingan had now become a stumbling block hindering his progress.

"Obito!" Guy suddenly called out, making Kakashi pause and follow his gaze.

"There you are," Obito walked over, his gaze lingering on Kakashi for a second longer than usual, looking somewhat uneasy.

"What a coincidence," Guy said with a smile.

"Obito," Kakashi greeted plainly.

"..."

Looking at the two of them, Obito suddenly remarked, "You two really are inseparable now."

Guy shrugged. "It's because of work. We're colleagues, so we need to spend a lot of time together. But it's great since Kakashi is my destined rival — we can spar anytime. You should talk to the Hokage and see if you can join the Crown Unit too."

Kakashi's face remained expressionless. "Shut up, Guy."

Guy's mention of "destined rival" made Obito feel a pang of bitterness.

He had once dreamed of becoming a perfectly synchronized partner with Kakashi.

But reality was that Kakashi was always doing things he didn't know about, always leaving him far behind.

Obito scoffed, "What's the big deal? I don't care."

Kakashi looked at Obito and suddenly said, "Guy, I just realized I want dango from the North Street shop. Can you go buy some for me?"

Guy blinked, momentarily confused.

He glanced around the dango shop they were currently in, even catching the shop owner looking over in surprise.

He couldn't help but say, "But this is the South Street."

Kakashi replied calmly, "If you go buy it for me, I'll agree to one sparring match of any kind."

Guy's eyes lit up, and he immediately jumped to his feet. "It's a deal! I'll go right now!"

With that, Guy quickly disappeared, leaving Kakashi and Obito sitting there.

Normally, Obito would be chattering non-stop with his lively personality, but today he seemed preoccupied, silent just like Kakashi.

Kakashi spoke up, "It's been a long time since our team gathered together, hasn't it?"

Obito slowly nodded.

Since Minato-sensei incident, they'd only gathered once, and the atmosphere had been heavy.

"Let's find a time to meet up, invite Rin too."

"...Alright."

Another silence fell.

Both of them were lost in their own thoughts.

Obito had received orders from his clan leader.

Returning the eye was something Obito would never have agreed to before, but Fugaku had told him that Kakashi had always intended to do so.

The clan leader had even spoken to Kakashi, and at that time, Kakashi had agreed.

"Obito." Kakashi spoke again, breaking the silence.

"Mm?"

"I have something I want to tell you..."

"..."

"When we were on the mission to destroy the Kannabi Bridge, you gave me one of your eyes..."

Obito's gaze wavered, and he immediately interrupted Kakashi, "Kakashi."

Kakashi was taken aback, but then he heard Obito say, "Actually, I have something I want to say too. Why don't you let me go first?"

Kakashi nodded slowly.

"Well..." Obito scratched his head, a bashful smile suddenly appearing on his face.

"It's about my Sharingan. It's really uncomfortable to use just one eye, so... can you return the other one to me?"

Kakashi was stunned.

He never expected Obito to say something like that.

Obito continued, "Lord Hokage will definitely arrange for you to get a healthy eye... So, can you return my Sharingan to me?"

Kakashi remained silent for a moment, his mind flooded with thoughts he wanted to say or ask, but they all got stuck in his throat.

He finally spoke, "This was always your eye, so returning it to you is only right."

Obito took on a relaxed demeanor, laughing heartily, "That's great then, thanks, Kakashi."

"...I should be the one thanking you, Obito."

Obito waved his hand, "It's settled then. Let's leave it at that for today. I'll notify you about the appointment at the hospital."

"Alright."

Obito got up and walked toward the street, not saying any more pointless words.

Guy quickly returned, holding a paper bag.

"Kakashi! I got the dango you wanted!"

He triumphantly placed the paper bag in front of Kakashi.

Kakashi opened it, glanced inside, and said, "Why are these red bean dango? I wanted the three-colored dango."

Guy froze for a moment, then exclaimed, "You didn't say that!"

Kakashi calmly replied, "I'm pretty sure I did."

Guy quickly retorted, "You definitely didn't! And red bean dango are delicious! They're so sweet!"

Kakashi said, "I hate red bean ( Anko ), that crazy woman."

Guy: "..."

It was true that Anko was a bit crazy, but the bigger issue now was that they couldn't even defeat her.

Seeing Kakashi getting up to leave, Guy quickly chased after him, "Kakashi, what about our duel?"

"You didn't bring me the three-colored dango, so the sparring is canceled."

"I'll go get them now!"

"I don't want them anymore."

"Kakashi!"

The two boys' figures gradually disappeared into the crowd on the street.

The dango shop owner looked at the paper bag left on the table, walked over, opened it, and took out a skewer.

After chewing it, he sneered, "That guy Nagao from North Street still hasn't improved his skills. Looks like I'm going to win the Konoha Dessert Competition this year for sure!"

"Boss, fifty skewers of red bean dango!"

Two figures entered the shop, two young and beautiful girls, their loud voices catching the attention of the other customers.

"Coming right up."

"Anko, you're crazy, why order so many?"

"I'm starving. I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now."

"You're not afraid of gaining weight?"

The two girls sat down at the spot where Kakashi and Guy had been earlier, and the owner quickly brought them tea.

Anko gritted her teeth and said, "It's all that bastard Makoto fault. When he locked me up, he didn't buy me any dango. I was starving!"

The girl across from her, Kurenai, looked at her speechlessly, wondering why Anko couldn't figure out why she was locked up.

Anko had woken up very late, and by then, everything had already settled.

After hearing the news of Orochimaru's death, she couldn't accept it, and in a frenzy, she destroyed the last of the Third Hokage's rock statues at the Hokage Rock.

What was even more shocking was that Anko had displayed strength far beyond normal.

Kurenai couldn't help but quietly remind her, "Anko, calling Lord Hokage like that isn't very respectful, is it?"

Anko snorted coldly, "He's just a sick pervert, a big lecher! If I catch him, I'm going to dig out his eyes and then castrate him!"

Kurenai was left speechless, wondering if Lord Hokage had done something to Anko, because why else would she hate him so much...
