The following morning, Kael completed exactly the hour of training he had agreed upon with Sylphie. He didn't try to add another ten minutes, didn't turn his warm-up into a second session, and didn't even argue when she took the wooden sword from his hand as soon as the time was up.
After weeks in which every increase in his workload had needed to be controlled, his body had recovered and his training was progressing normally again. That day, however, he had promised a light session before visiting Eleonor, and that was exactly what he did.
"I'm impressed," Sylphie said, returning the sword to the rack while Kael picked up his towel. "An entire hour, and you didn't try to interpret 'one hour' as 'one hour before breakfast and another afterward.'"
"I would never do that," Kael replied, wiping his face as he walked toward the exit. "Especially because you've just given me the idea."
Sylphie grabbed his arm before he could pass.
