Inari's hand slid beneath the water, finding what it sought without hesitation. Her fingers closed around him, firm and purposeful, cutting off any response he might have.
"Stop overthinking," she whispered, her warm breath against his ear as her hand began a slow, deliberate movement. "You always get like this after problems arise... so tense..."
Kael held his breath, his muscles involuntarily contracting under her touch. "Inari—"
"Shhh..." She interrupted, her mouth finding the curve of his neck in a kiss that was more of a gentle bite. "I took care of everything. The problems that could bother you... disappeared. The ones that might be useful... remain."
Her pace gradually increased, her hand moving with an intimate familiarity that spoke of years of muscle-to-muscle, nerve-to-nerve knowledge. The water rippled around them, creating hypnotic patterns on the murky surface.
