"You have something that doesn't belong to you," Patriarch Umbra said calmly.
Theron lifted up the spear in his hands, looking at it for a moment. He flipped it in his palm and pierced it into the ground. The cobbled stone—or rather, what was left of it—shook as the spear morphed back into a black box, its body embedding right into the ground as though it had been birthed from it.
SHIIIING.
Theron exhaled and pulled out his short sword and dagger.
From within the wedding hall, Chen abruptly stood up. He recognized that weapon combination. Everything fell into place, and his eyes opened wide.
Theron. He was the one Chen fought that day at the pavilion. He was part of that assassin's organization!
Impossible. Theron was also the one to save him from that female assassin. Was there internal strife? What was—
Chen's head snapped toward Ayame. Was it a coincidence? The build of Ayame and the female assassin were quite close, and Ayame and Theron were also, obviously, quite close.
