Theron didn't seem to be listening at all as his arms flexed, ripping his way out of the vines of darkness that continuously wrapped around him.
He felt so much rage building up inside of his body that he couldn't even begin to describe it. It was just that something about the pity in her eyes, the grieving tone in her voice…
It just pissed him off even more.
He would have preferred she be cold and calculating, indifferent and malevolent. This toxic pity party she was holding while driving a knife into his back and through his heart was even worse.
It was enough to drive a man mad with fury.
Theron's jaw practically broke open as he roared, his veins bursting across his body as he ripped free, his hand forming a claw as he lunged at her throat.
Another line of darkness caught his wrist, twisting it back as though to pin it to his spine. But he continued lunging forward, his teeth flashing as he bit at her throat.
