While Nova was lost in his thoughts, he heard screams echoing off the wall upstairs and his brows furrowed.
Magic exploded against the wards that he had placed by his room; he could sense it, and Nova's head snapped up. Someone had breached the inn, once again and he had a good idea as to who it was.
He felt a sense of dread was over him, a similar fear to when those around him were in danger, those he cared about. He got up and ran, but by the time he reached the hallway outside her door, the walls were scorched and blood trailed down the corridor. The sight made his blood run cold.
A Creed assassin stood over her bed, blade drawn, just as her eyes fluttered open in terror, but her hands had blood due to attacking him to protect herself. Despite her state, she was clearly not helpless.
