Chapter 134 - Chapter 134: Behind All Facades IV

Shawn sighed heavily before looking straight into his father's eyes.

"And this is the very first time she asked something from me. She had given me and my friends unconditional support in her own way without asking for anything in return. That is why I told you before, she is someone worthy to befriend."

Looking at the determination in his son's eyes and hearing Wynter Morgrave's voice tremble the way it did in the voice message, he decided to ask.

"What is going on first?"

Shawn shook his head, "We only know that she and her family were not the way they were portrayed outside. Though she did not openly say anything about it, I saw nail wounds on her arm during Uncle Lenon's birthday party."

Dominick frowned.

To hurt her that way, he knew it was none other than Minerva.

"I don't know anything about her as Wynter Morgrave, this is all I can tell because I barely interacted with her as Wynter. It was always as Harmony Thomas."

"Tell me your history with her as Harmony Thomas then."

They never asked who Shawn befriends at school because they know he can handle himself just fine. This is the first time he was asking this because of the background of the person that Shawn was willing to save.

"We became acquaintances halfway through our third year but fell apart just as we were about to graduate. I was made to realize the flaws of my kindness through her and my friends. That is how I decided to change my approach in befriending her."

Shawn slowly recounted how he and Harmony became closer.

"She is a strong, independent person. I only saw her being emotional when someone was hurt because of other people's jealousy. Then, more than a week ago, she said she'd return home, the very first time she actually bid me goodbye."

He clenched his jaw, "I felt something was amiss then. She does not usually do that, even though we were neighbors. And then three days ago, she sent me this message."

Dominick thought for a bit before sighing again.

"Do you understand that helping her will mean that we will go against the Morgrave Family? Even though the two families are powerful in their own industries, it is different when you try to go against one another."

"I know. And I know she understands this as well. I just feel that she truly desires this decision for her to reach out like this. Going against their family, the implications and impacts, I understand it very clearly, but Dad…"

Shawn gritted his teeth, "I can tell this much through my interactions with her. And after finding out that she planned on leaving her family, it is an intuition, but I can feel that I am right with this feeling. All she wanted was to live freely. She didn't want to just live for the sake of living. But she wanted to live the way she wished to. Without the threads attached to her by her family."

Dominick's lips parted slightly after hearing his words.

Wynter Morgrave was the perfect example of the perfect beautiful daughter one family would have loved to have. Her eyes were filled with life and vigor that no one would suspect something like her family detaining her could happen.

And no one would have ever thought that she would want to separate from her family when all along they seemed to get along just fine.

"She loves her life, Dad. She loved it so much that she had waited patiently for her to become an adult to be free. She had lived the way her family wanted only because she still had no ground in leaving their family."

"Even so," Dominick spoke.

"Why not help the child, Dominick?"

The father and son duo looked up the stairs when they heard Sabrina's voice.

She had heard the recording from above the stairs. And the voice in that recording tugged at her heart. Together with how her son portrays her, she couldn't help but reach out to that voice.

"Her voice was not dead. Instead, it was filled with life, trying her best to hold onto it while reaching out to someone for help."

"But Sabrina."

"I can ask Tiffany for help. With two families together, surely, we can find out just what is going on."

Dominick sighed. His wife was already determined to help the young lady.

"And? Where do you think she would be?" he asked Shawn.

"That is…"

Before he could say he did not know and was still waiting for a message on whether she was able to leave or not, he received another message from her.

He was truly hoping for it to be a message that she was out of her family.

But it was for naught, it was instead a website.

When he clicked on it, he found himself looking at a blue dot in a structure. This structure was shown in a floor plan style. Having only the lines of the outline of the building.

And he could tell that this is actually a tracking site. Wynter has sent him her location through this.

"She was prepared," he muttered.

"What do you mean?" Dominick asked.

"I know where she is."

He showed his parents his phone.

"Isn't that…"

It was none other than the main mansion of the Morgrave Family.

"Dad," Shawn spoke, there was pleading in his voice.

Seeing the location, it was obvious that she was being confined at her own home.

The position of the dot could even be seen on the map as a 3D-type one. The dot was located at the bottommost part of the mansion.

She must be in the basement.

It was obvious that she was truly detained.
