Third person POV
Then, upon arriving in one of Nuevo Tacloban's airfields with Baisilio and the others, Tej became one of the first to get off with his belongings, which were stored in his old-style leather knapsack, and he was excited and very enthusiastic to see how unique it was. At this point, Nuevo Tacloban's population slightly grew to 1,000 people according to its latest monthly census. The night was clear, and the dark sky was clear and beautiful. Some of the Vamzoms, including a scientist named Ales Pohl, are anticipating their arrival. Another person there is the father of Kahraman and Viviana, and he was Kal Candana, a minibus driver. Kal had been informed that his children and Katsuko would be arriving home tonight from a text message from Kahraman, who were at the ferry from Zemelja. So, he went to Nuevo Tacloban in his minibus to pick them up.
They don't know whether the trade partnership in Kamal was a success or not. But this was answered when Basilio and others came to them and said that it didn't go well, and the reasons were given by them. To that, most of their friends were taken aback and were surprised by how oppressive Kamal was in the form of societal limitations and oppressive norms.
Tej's POV
"Wow, that didn't end well…" one of the hooded Vamzoms, who was armed with a Blood Sword and a pistol, commented.
"Oh, well…" another, who seemed to be a scientist or a doctor because of his white lab coat.
"Yeah, but it's fine," Basilio replied while folding his arms for a bit.
"But at least we had some fun there!" Katsuko added with enthusiastic confidence.
Kahraman and Viviana then nodded to support his comment.
At least, those who were the friends of my new friends were happy for all of us.
And then, a middle-aged man with a uniform I never seen before came to Kahraman, Viviana, and Katsuko and asked if they were okay. "Yes, dad," Viviana replied positively.
"But we did have some fun there!" Kahraman added with enthusiasm.
"Yes, they're safe and sound, Mr. Candana," Katsuko added brightly.
Because of that, Mr. Candana was relieved to hear that and left off with the three of them.
Chivo and Mr. Juhani revealed that the four of them are from Sárga Madár, Pantano, which is 15 kilometres away from here.
Oh, that made sense, and that man was also Kahraman and Viviana's father…I see then…
A bit later, all of us went to the castle of Ruslav. But despite its short path on paved pathways, I got to see a glimpse of Nuevo Tacloban. At this hour, which was past 10 o'clock, everything was quiet. I know it was late, so it does make sense why there was no activity in the streets. Basilio explained that the curfew time was at 10 o'clock, and activity of every kind was quietened so everyone would have some sleep for the night.
Then, we arrived at the castle, and to be honest, it was quite nice. I didn't know that Basilio could ever have these nice things, but he explained that he only inherited them as a successor to one Ruslan Makesa, who, tragically (I am not kidding.) took his own life after he and his Vamzom race-army had regained their senses during their latest attack in a town, which was Chivo's hometown, called Fresa de Ard within Pantano. Man, I felt bad for him.
And then, we were now at the grand dining hall, where I introduced myself to their friends and acquaintances. I explained that I was from Kamal and was an unlicensed healer. They were taken aback, and I added that I was too poor to have a license for healing. But then, Basilio said to me, "I'll issue a license for that if you want."
I was taken aback when I heard that.
A healer's license…for me? Under their jurisdiction?
Are they for real?
"Yes," Basilio replied with a nod. "You'll be under our jurisdiction, even though you're practicing your ability outside of our borders."
How can I be even more grateful for his help to me twice today?
And so, I readily said yes and added, "Thank you, Basilio-san!" Basilio then smiled at me. "You're welcome, Tej-kun."
After that, the concern came for the question of where I will settle here. And then, one of the Vamzoms named Ales Pohl offered to settle at his home here in Nuevo Tacloban. Yes, he was that Vamzom doctor at the airfields. He even offered me a part-time job at Nuevo Tacloban's hospital, which was literally called the Nuevo Tacloban Hospital. Because of that, I accepted these offers with thanksgiving in my heart. I was getting luckier than before in my life.
