Third person POV
After that, Basilio zipped his backpack closed, wore it on his back, and started his journey in this world on foot and towards a random and guessed direction. The young boy from Earth is now trekking through the forests while relying on his map. Luckily, his phone was now reconfigured to the map and system of this world, and he was stunned to see that it had adapted to the system of this world. "Woah… cool…"
Along the way, Basilio heard some growling sounds coming from a distance and checked it out, only to see that it was a giant spider in black and red and that was hairy. As an arachnophobic person, he flinched in fear, and the giant spider spotted him. As Basilio backs away, the giant spider growls in hostility and lunges at him. Basilio was in fear and couldn't get out, but suddenly, two hooded figures in black sprung out of the trees and attacked and slashed the spider to death with their non-regular swords and surprisingly, magical pistols that never ran out of ammunition. Both did so, and Basilio was stunned that they had saved him.
"Woah…" he commented.
But these two are not doing this to save him; they are doing it to abduct him as a meal for them.
This was evident at their smirking smiles and slurping of their vampire teeth at him.
Basilio was afraid and got up, before backing away slowly.
"Lunch…" one of the two hooded figures pointed his sword at him.
His comrade then pointed his magical pistol at Basilio.
"What the…?" Basilio said towards this, before sprinting to get out of there while yelling for help.
The two hooded soldiers then started to chase after him, not wanting to lose their human meat meal.
"Get back here, human!"
"Haha!"
Basilio kept on running while thinking, "What is this?!"
Luckily for him, a group of adventurers nearby heard his scream for help and went in his direction, seeing who were chasing him. So, the group unsheathed their swords and axes, as well as pulling out their magical guns, and started attacking his chasers back. The two hooded, bloodthirsty creatures were taken aback and tried to attack back but were outnumbered by that group of 4. Meanwhile, another member of that group helped out Basilio by getting him out of it. Also, another of the members was a soldier from a church that specialized in dark creatures like the two hooded soldiers.
Now, the two hooded creatures with weapons retreated and left the scene. "And don't you ever attack us again, you dark creatures of evil!" the church soldier member yelled at them.
"Are you okay, kid?" another, a healer, asked Basilio in comforting him.
"Y-Yeah, thanks," Basilio said to her back.
"You're welcome, kid," one member, a swordsman, replied, "we're lucky to have heard your scream for help."
"Yeah, thanks for that, sir."
"You're welcome as well."
A bit later, all of them are now walking while some of the members of the group ask questions to Basilio about himself in this world. "I was new here…" Basilio said back, "…just a few hours ago."
"Ah, an Otherworlder…" replied the church soldier member.
"Oh, that term?"
"Yes," the swordsman responded, "it was a term to describe people who from other worlds and had arrived here either summoned or died in their past lives. You're one of those people, right?"
Now trying to remember what it means, Basilio remembered its definition and use in fictional genres back in his previous life and replied, "Ah, yes, I am."
"Welcome to our world," the healer replied back nicely with a smile.
Basilio's mood brightened as a result.
A bit later, all of them arrived at the nearest town, Fresa de Ard, within the Dukedom of Dimwell, which is also within the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Pantano, one of the five countries of the Central Continent. Basilio marvelled at the town's charms, and the swordsman said to him, "You're now in Fresa de Ard, within the Dimwell Dukedom, which was also within the jurisdiction and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Pantano. A good place to start."
"Nice…" Basilio responded to this before pulling out his smartphone and starting to take pictures of its beautiful, street-level panorama.
The group saw that he had a smartphone, a luxury that only a handful of people (including Otherworlders) have due to its rarity.
But then, his stomach growled in hunger because Basilio had been walking for approximately 2 hours before his scary encounter with the giant spider. The group heard that and recommended a tavern down the market street for him.
Basilio felt hungry and said to the seller, "Yeah…I am hungry. Where can I find that tavern?"
The healer pointed at a tavern with a wooden-ye-old-style sign hanging above the main entrance door.
Seeing that it was nearby, Basilio looked at him. "Thanks, guys."
He then ran to that tavern while snaking his way through the crowded street.
"Good luck, kid!" the swordsman waved him goodbye.
"If you need anything from us," the church soldier added, "just come to our guild down the street from here!"
Not long after, Basilio arrived at the tavern and entered, seeing its mild busy activity consisting of eating, drinking, and serving customers and patrons. Cooks are busy cooking in the back kitchen while waiters and waitresses serve food to the customers and patrons. Basilio felt his hunger intensified a bit more because of the noise and smell of the food.
