Chapter 273 - Chapter 273

Sasuke was taken aback. This was the first time Tsunade had spoken to him like this. The Sixth Hokage—something he had never considered.

All he wanted was to become stronger, live a good life with Sakura, and after having descendants, take down Uchiha Itachi to avenge the Uchiha clan.

Even without considering the power of the Ōtsutsuki, Sasuke's strength was already enough to defeat Itachi.

But precisely because his strength had far surpassed Itachi's, he wasn't in a hurry for revenge anymore. Sasuke naturally believed Tsunade was serious about what she said.

After all, both he and Tsunade knew what kind of person Yoruha was.

If there were any other candidates, Yoruha would definitely not want to be the Sixth Hokage.

Moreover, Yoruha would surely push him forward, and he might not even have a choice in the matter.

Thinking of this, Sasuke's mouth twitched slightly. "That guy would probably do that."

Tsunade shook her head with a wry smile, "There's no helping it. That's just how he is. But it's fine. Whether it's you or him as the Sixth Hokage, I believe Konoha will be strong."

"I can't say much about that guy either, after all, am I that much better?"

Tsunade knew that her personality was quite similar to Yoruha's.

This was the one thing the two Hokage advisors didn't like about her—too laid-back. If something could be done by others, she would resolutely avoid doing it herself.

If she could slack off, she would. In this regard, Sasuke was definitely much better than Yoruha and her. Over the past three years, Sasuke had been the model worker of Konoha.

In just three years, he had completed as many missions as a jōnin who had served for over a decade.

It was during these three years that Sasuke's prestige in Konoha had been established, not inferior to the level of Minato back in the day.

Therefore, if he were to be nominated as the Sixth Hokage, there wouldn't be much opposition.

Even the two Hokage advisors wouldn't oppose it, as Sasuke no longer had the Uchiha clan backing him.

However, Danzo would definitely oppose it, since he was the one who had ordered Itachi to massacre the Uchiha clan.

Regardless of whether the Third Hokage knew about it, the Third never showed up during the whole affair.

Danzo knew that if Sasuke came to power, he would certainly be held accountable. Naturally, he wouldn't allow Sasuke to take the position.

But now, Danzo's power in Konoha was virtually nonexistent, making it impossible for him to stop Sasuke from becoming Hokage.

He would likely push for Yoruha to take the position, even if he didn't like him. Yet, with Yoruha's personality, if Sasuke could be Hokage, he wouldn't take the position himself.

He would be more than happy to let Sasuke take on the role, enjoying his leisure. Unless Konoha truly had no one else, Yoruha wouldn't step up to be Hokage.

But now, Konoha was full of talent. Besides him and Sasuke, there were Naruto, Sakura, and the rest of the Konoha 12, all of whom were quite capable.

There were many more potential Hokage candidates than in the original story. Yoruha naturally didn't need to step up. As for Tsunade's self-deprecation, Sasuke naturally pretended not to hear it.

After all, Tsunade was still the Hokage, and he couldn't openly agree with her. However, if Tsunade really wanted him to be the Sixth Hokage, he certainly wouldn't refuse.

But if he could become Hokage, that wouldn't be too bad. Although he himself didn't need the title of Hokage, he was different from Yoruha.

Yoruha hadn't settled down yet, but he was about to marry Sakura. Even if it was just for Sakura and their future children, he would take on the role of Hokage if he could.

What was surprising was that Tsunade held Sasuke in high regard. Tsunade actually wanted Sasuke to become the Sixth Hokage, instead of choosing Naruto for the role.

In the original story, Tsunade highly esteemed Naruto, even treating him like her own brother, protecting his dreams as if they were her own.

Naruto wanted to be Hokage, and she believed he could achieve that dream. But now, things were different from the original story.

At this moment, the gap between Sasuke and Naruto was immense.

It wasn't just about strength; in terms of personality and capability, Naruto couldn't compare to Sasuke. Ironically, the smallest gap was in their strength.

From the original storyline, it was clear that Naruto wasn't suited to be Hokage; he only became one because he managed to overpower everyone with his immense strength.

However, at this point, Sasuke hadn't defected, and his strength was already at the Hokage level.

Over the past three years, he had completed many missions and gained a formidable reputation in the ninja world.

With Yoruha unwilling to take the position, Sasuke was the most suitable candidate. Or rather, it could be said that Sasuke was the only candidate.

Because if there was any choice, Yoruha would never take the position. After reporting to Tsunade in the Hokage's office, Sasuke headed to the Konoha Hospital. Sakura was now a medical ninja there.

Like Yoruha, she received dual salaries. Besides Yoruha, Sakura was the most renowned at Konoha Hospital because her medical ninjutsu was second only to Yoruha's.

Yoruha, sitting on the rooftop reading a book, smiled slightly. "Things are getting more interesting." He certainly didn't mind Tsunade wanting to push Sasuke to become the Sixth Hokage.

He even understood it well, as he himself was absolutely unwilling to take the position.

Tsunade had to choose from others, and Sasuke was the best choice. He was strong enough, capable, calm, and intelligent, with qualities that even surpassed hers. If not Sasuke, who else could she choose?

However, Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage would be shattered. Under Yoruha's influence, Sasuke not only didn't defect but was also much stronger than in the original story, with the ability to stand on his own.

Over the past three years, he had built a significant reputation in the ninja world and accumulated a large number of missions and a lot of prestige in Konoha.

As long as Yoruha was willing to support him becoming Hokage, it would be a certainty.

Even though Naruto was stronger than in the original story, facing a much stronger Sasuke made him seem quite ordinary.

Many of Naruto's flaws that could be overlooked before now stood out in comparison to Sasuke, making him seem unfit to be Hokage.

Even Tsunade, who supported him the most, never considered him as a successor to the Hokage position.

Previously, she only thought Yoruha could succeed her as the Sixth Hokage, and now she added Sasuke to that list.

This was because she knew Yoruha's personality; if there was someone else suitable, he wouldn't take the position himself, which led her to think of Sasuke.

But her second choice was Sasuke, not Naruto. In fact, Naruto's strength at this time was second only to Yoruha and Sasuke among their generation of ninjas.

Unfortunately, Yoruha and Sasuke were too dazzling, leaving no one to notice him.

The third choice was truly overlooked.

If there was anyone in Konoha who supported Naruto, it would only be Jiraiya. Jiraiya treated Naruto like his own grandson, as he was the son of his beloved disciple.

Of course, he treated Naruto like a grandson.

But when it came to recommending someone for the Sixth Hokage, the first person he would think of was Yoruha. If Yoruha didn't want the position, his second choice would be Sasuke. He didn't think Naruto was suitable to be Hokage.
